2012 apex xtx with 2000 miles, last season when riding I could get 90 miles before low gas light would come on and was getting like 13.3 mpg. Last few rides this season light comes on under 80 miles and getting like 11-11.5 mpg. I checked my EXUP valve and it was within spec, so I am left wondering what to check next? Thanks for the input.

Mine did that, but was due to a broken exup cable. Got me stumped.

Have the skid out of it now for shock work, when I put it back in I will make sure the track is within specs, I started off the year with a new belt but I will double check that as well as well as clean up clutch faces and chain and oil was changed and adjusted in the fall like I always do. Was hoping that there was something I could check other than the basic maintenance stuff. I am going to call the dealer tomorrow to see what they may think. Maybe it was "bad gas" as I know the last two rides I got gas at the same place both times, I drained all gas and will add new but we don't have snow so I won't be able to check for some time now.

bad gas!!!!! i have a little 600sdi as my trail machine which our family has owned since new (07) and it's gotten a consistent 20-21mpg. this yr though 3 out of 5 times it's only gotten 18mpg and 3 of my other buddies have noticed when they have filled up at the same stations their fuel mileage has gone done 3-4mpg.

Your EXUP may simply be out of adjustment. It's common and should be checked after break-in and then once a year. The cable's need adjusted over time just like a bicycle chain.
Mr Sled made a video on how to adjust :

Last year I was getting 13.5 mpg(with Woody's power up kit). This year all I have changed is: Installed Dupont hifax, changed engine oil to fully synthetic Yamalube, changed chaincase oil to fully synthetic Mobile 1 gear lube, and adjusted Exup valve to spec...now getting 14.5 to 15 mpg...

wow makes me want to try syn motor oil and like I said I checked my exup and it was good but I went threw the adjustment process anyways just to double check. I am really leaning on bad fuel because on earlier rides the mileage seemed to be there but will have to wait for a while as no snow in sight for new York.
I was thinking it had more to do with the Dupont slides, plus I've heard on here similar results after installing them.
