Just wondering if anyone else has had to adjust their exup valve? I had to this year with about 2000 mi. on my 11 apex xtx, I was getting left behind when running a 12 apex er on the lake, it didnt feel as strong as last year, with the help of Allen Ulmer and Kviper we determined the exup was out of adjustment and it was by about a half hole, adjustment was made and all is good again.

Checked mine and it was good.
Hopefully it stays that way.

Had mine checked at a1000 miles it was a little off but they said not enough to mak e a difference but they lined it up.

Is this from not being set up right in the first place? OR is it the nature of the valve needing recalibration? Is it a mechanical linkage adjustment that is needed? If so how did it get out of whack?

It's controlled by 2 cables so they will stretch over time ,,adjustment will be required. I added it to the fall prep list just for piece of mind :)

We checked to make sure valve was operating freely, then adjusted the cables to bring it into spec, I also heard that the amount it was off shouldnt affect the performance but side by side testing proved otherwise, so if yours is off adjust it to spec and you will be good.

Please explain side by side testing and the results. How far was your valve adjustments off and what affect did it have? Thanks

The side by side testing was done on a lake on hardpack snow against my buddys 2012 apex first ride he could pull away fairly easily and after readjusting valve we now run ski to ski all day, I didnt think it would effect the performance that much but allen ulmer said he seen 5-6 hp differance on the dyno with it off just a little, I think hes right from what i have seen.

So here's how it is, Even though I never want to race shinze is always egging me on so it's on all the time. In the end if there is an inch difference between our sled's we know it. There are a few here and there that are out of adjustment and it don't take much to make a difference. Took me a half hour or so to check Mine after doing the first one.

shinze, when you seen yours was out of spec by almost half a hole was the groove towards the back of the sled at the 1 oclock position rather than the 12oclock position or was it at the 11 ooclock postion. Curious
