I did not revalve and it awesome. They recommend a revalve.Than why dont star tell everyone that there kit needs the two shocks revaled along with there kit,so your total will be near $500.00 instead of $300.00 they claim! Why does this kit need the shocks revalved,if there kit works so great,it should be just as good w/out the revalve. just my 2 cents

Been running the Star Kit 2 seasons now, I did the kit plus the revalve on the rear shocks with heavier front spring. It was a major improvement for ME over the stock suspension. I struggled a bit still with the front end not really being to my liking.
Today I took my sled to Robert's at his shop Star Suspension. I had my Ohlins shocks set up to work with the Star rear kit. They basically lowered my front end 1.25 inches with a spacer in the shocks and also revalved them. Robert then suited up and fired up his Nitro then we went out to test my set up on my XTX. All I can say is WOW. Night and day from what it was and now rails the corners with zero effort. Big thanks to Robert and the crew at Star for tweaking my set up and making it perfect.
Great people and great service. First class operation.

When Ribert was tweaking your sled, what did he do with the limiter straps? Maximum length or in one set of holes?
Reading through the posts it seems guys are tryng both ways.

I had them in the middle holes. Just after doing front shocks I pulled them full tight last hole. Still get front end to lift a bit on throttle but much more stable and flat thru the corners. I'm gonna leave strap tight for now. But was not terrible in middle either. For me anyway. When Ribert was tweaking your sled, what did he do with the limiter straps? Maximum length or in one set of holes?

My 2011 XTX only came with 4 sets of holes so I don't have a middle set. I guess I'll try going in 1 set of holes from maximum length.
Robert's instructions say to go the longest setting or in 1 set of holes. I was just wondering what he went with on your sled because it sounds like he has it set up perfect.

When I left him we discussed whether to pull the strap or not to the last holes, I only see 3 on my 14'. We agreed i would ride it on better trail near home then if I wanted to I would make the change then. So that is what I did. He said the limiter strap is certainly rider specific, some like it tighter with kit others not.

2 full seasons on my kit with the revalve, rides great real happy with it. Noticed the rear bolts for idlers/cross shaft are slightly tweaked. These are a 8.8 grade metric. Just ordered a nice upgrade ARP chromoly part number 663-1011. To important of a part to go cheap on IMO.

i just put his kit on my 2012 apex xtx that i bought new ( in the crate) this year..i`m also just under 200 with all my gear on.. Did what he said front shock 7.25 inches limit strap in one hole from stock .and shock springs on front are just loose, with very little end play ( on the bench ) is that ok ? What do you mean by center shock spring at 2/3 ??? also my torsion spring is on soft. also why is your limit strap on stock and not pulled one hole from stock.. i bought a set of gytr piggy backs from a shock man from ( Shock Therapy in Durand mi. and he said they were just rebuilt by him and i also put them on and one was leaking oil out after i opened the rebound, darn it ...Deal not so good now ... will need to send them to star to get rebuilt the right way.. Put the stock ones back on. only have 214 miles on it..will see what this star kit rides like this weekend if all goes as planned..I'm on season 3 with the star kit. I've gone from just the complete linkage kit to center shock and spring done to star's spec and this year rear shock done to their spec. Every step was an improvement over stock and now it just rides awesome. I was bottoming on big hits and the rear shock re-valve got rid of that so far. It rides super smooth now. I'm 190 suited up, torsion springs set on soft, center shock spring at 2/3, limiter straps set at stock hole and compression dampening on rear shock is 6 clicks out.

did you get the heavy duty spring , for the front skid shock ?
It is part of the Star recommended set up ,almost regardless of your weight .
The 7.25 " setting is for your weight .
I am 20% heavier so my setting , with the heavy duty spring , is shorter than yours .
My torsion springs are on soft also , and I pulled up the straps one hole .
I have Snowtrackers , and 13 mm swaybar , with hyfax saver extra wheel kit
When I ride , I sit more than the rest of the group (I have the WRP seat and Lake effects riser), and don't have an issue with the big bumps , or the small ones . I came from a 06 Apex GT , short track , that I really liked , and this new sled with the 144 tipped up

I have the star rode it 1 year before getting shocks revalved and heaver spring. I am 250 with gear. the star is great improvement alone but on another level once the shocks are done for your weight. I run limiter all the way out and no turning problems with tuner skis and both carbide 8 inch.

I am trying to fine tune the star suspension but I am not able to get the front end low enough, like to have the a-arms parallel to the ground. I have the springs on the ski shocks as loose as they can go as well as the front skid shock spring & I don't want to have to shorten the limiter strap to accomplish this. The front of the skid feels a bit harsh in the studders & this is why I want to soften the front. Any ideas?

I didn't lower my front end.

I just compared mine with a friends who has the exact same sled, (no star kit), in the upper portion of the travel mine is a bit softer, but his travels further down as mine is soft until about half the travel then gets hard. We tested them on big stutter bumps as nothing has been groomed around here. Not sure how I am going to soften up the lower part of the travelI didn't lower my front end.
