For those of you who have experience with Asphalt Skids here, who else makes these besides Wahl Brothers? Are there many varieties of these and what are the differences? Are they direct bolt in to the factory holes?

Don, I don't know of any that mount up diectly into the stock holes. My Wahl front torque arm bolted into the chrome side allen bolt of my 05 RX1, but then had to mount plates for the rear.
There is Pro-Line, and a few more, but don't remember the names.

wahl and proline are the big ones. ecp will build a custom one for you too. I know some people have had good luck with f-cat skids and added wheels.
I have a wahl and it is working well. I'm still learning on it though. They're probably the best bang for your buck. Prolines cost more, and from who I've taled to the newer ones are slightly easier to tune. I don't know anyone who has run an ecp.

I run a 3 year old proline, and I really like it. I would like the newer one but can't justify updateing. It was under an RX1 last year and it worked well. It bent the front swing arm but that was due to a tuning problem (bad porpuising to 60') , and had nothing to do with the quality of the parts. We repaired it and got it tamed down. The 60' times weren't great (1.45) but it was a full weight sled with a bit of lag (MCX rear mount). I understand that the next generation Proline uses a dampened shock in the front, which would be an improvement on mine. I may look into putting a shock in the front with some extension dampning adjustment to aid in the setup. I have heard that the ECP skid is Really good but have never had the chance to see one. Anyone have a pic they would like to share? I seem to remember Supertuner saying that he could update other models (ie Proline/Wahl) to his swing arm design, but I don't know any details. Maybe he will post here.
Thanks Tom
Thanks Tom
Thanks guys, I know where to get a Wahl skid, but where do you get the ECP and Proline skids?
Ecp is a sponser to the site he has his own forum above.I heard of guys that are getting killer 60 ft times with the ecp's.I belive John Wheelock is the owner of proline out of mn I think simons/cpr might be a distributer for them.

I am Freddie Klies. President of Eastern Cycle Performance. Try contacting Paul Magliato. He goes by mms57 on this site and Amsnow. He has a slightly used one for sale and I mean slightly! Maybe 6 passes.
If he no longer has it for sale, I could build you one.

Freddie, can't find mms57 on this site or Amsnow, how much for your skid, dare I ask?

I have buster696's 'old' wahl. With it (and not much else) I ran a 10.61 on my warrior and there was still room left. I have seen both work very well. low 1.3 to high 1.2 60' times on both skids consistantly. Both have their own learning curves. I don't think you can go wrong either way, espically compared to a modified stock skid.
Thanks guys, hopefully I can find a used one of either. I hate changing my stock one every year. Wahl brothers isn't that far away, I may have to go down there and see what they have. I know that someone in Canada sells the proline, I think they are in Alberta somewhere, just can't remember what shop it was, anyone know?
Most of the prolines you see that are running very well60ft times are ver modified but you can't get that out of most of the top asphalt guy's.
