Hi Guys,
I am just wondering, what is the process to appraise the value of your RX-1 if you want to sell it.
Is there a standard process? Just wondering because I'd like to get rid of mine and get a new one later on.
Please let me know

I usually use Kelly's Blue Book or NADA to determine a value of sled. They will list both trade-in and retail. Kelly's Blue Book's website is www.kbb.com and NADA's website is www.nadaguides.com (although NADA only goes to 2002). Another source to check is the snowmobile auction that takes place in Bronson, MI. This gives you an idea of what the buyers are willing to pay. Their website is www.snowmobileauction.com. On their main page, look for a link for the auction prices. They go back 12 months from the current month. I would think from those references, you would be able to determine the approx. value of your sled.

There is aCanadian blue book that gives snowmobile values if you need Canadian $$$. A RX-1 goes from a low of $7500 in poor condition to $9500 in perfect condition with low miles.

Value?
I agree with the "book" and auction values as a start. BUT it is only worth what someone will pay and this is often very frustrating to learn. Obvious and yet needs to be considered, many sleds (cars) have sat and lost further value waiting for 'What it's worth" good luck Yamadoo

Hi guys, Thanks for your input. I think Yamadoo has a very good point. I wanted at least 8000 for my sled. But when you think about it, most people would not pay that much for a used sled. For that amount, they could buy a really good new one.
If I want to get any real value out of my sled, I think the best way is to keep it, low operational cost and the fact I paid $13,850 for my sled landed here, I think I'll hang on to if for a while.
