Can anyone tell me if the arctic thundercat extra tall windshield with the mirrors fits on the
winder? Was told Yamaha doesn't make the extra tall??? Thanks

The windshields will interchange from cat to Yamaha from 17 up with the 998 turbo. Same hood

I think you shall find that the winder hood is the only one that accepts those tabs on the windshield.
Some just use Viper or cat windshields that do not have the hook/tabs that insert into hood.

That's why I said 17 and newer with the 998 motor as they all share the same plastics and did not mention the viper. although most of those windshields will also work with some minor modifications if they have the ear tabs up top they can be trimmed off.

Nothing is an exact fit except for Sidewinder windshields that I know of. Yamaha has come out with a few more then what was available in 17 for the sidewinders.
Tabs are different on both Cat and Viper, but can be used with trimming, Correct?
The Viper colored schemes are eye catching and matching for blue and red sleds.
Cat has many to choose from.

I am also interested in a different windshield. I only have 2 right now. Would like 1 more whereas I do not use my stock shorty anymore.

The viper shields that some like myself had modified (simply trimming off the tabs up top of the hood that are entirely unnecessary) before the season had even started for 2017 with the first sidewinders have all been changed. The new blue white red. Black white red. All black etc have all been remolded from the factory and look as we had been modifying them. They now bolt right on to either a viper or sidewinder/cat. It's really only the very tall windshields that will see benefit from the extra tabs to stop them from holding at speed from what I've seen.

OK just to clarify.
Are you saying that the newer then 17 Winders no longer have that hook tab on their hoods(slots)or stock windshields(hook tabs) ?

I'm saying the tabs aren't necessary when putting an older style viper shield on the sidewinder as they were in different locations. Simply cut them off. They are not needed for support at all. For 2018 forward the viper shield options the tabs were removed so they will work on vipers and sidewinders. Which in turn makes them useable on cat 998 turbos as well as the bolt hole pattern around the headlight is the same
