I'm being told the Camoplast Extreme tracks work great on the RX-1M.

I have a 159" x 16" on my sled now and have about three more inches of adjustment left on my rail extensions.

I trimmed the two aluminum extrusions on the heat exchanger to make my 2 1/4" fit fine but is there enough clearance for a 2 1/2" track?

I have heard from a reliable source that they are trimming all but the very center paddles to 2 1/4" for a reason I can not remember.

Has anyone on here had experience with this track on their RX-1M?

Thanks Guys

We have this track on quite a few RX-1s around here. We have not trimmed the paddles at all.
We did install 7 tooth drivers though.

7 tooth 3,0 pitch?

Will a naturally aspitated RX-1M be able to adequately turn a 162" x 16" x 2 1/2" tall track?

I'm nearly convinced that this would be the ultimate track.

this is the track i want. But 7 tooth drivers 3.0 pitch are bigger than 8 tooths 2.52.

You think its gonna fit ?

Oh yeah. It will fit Tundra, on way or another.

I thought the 7 tooth 3.0" pitch drivers were actually about a 1/2" smaller than a 8 tooth 2.52" driver. That gives more room for the added height of the track and room for all the snow and air to get through the front of the tunnel. Unless you have a drop and roll chain case it's better to use a 7 tooth 3.0" drivers.

Also the 8 tooth 3.0" pitch driver is about 1/2" larger than a 8 tooth 2.52" driver I'm told.

Now, to figure out what gearing a guy needs with a smaller driver.............

Take it easy

I had this track on my sled before boost. The sled will turn the track fine. Even at altitude (10,000' +)
Trimming the center rib on the front heat exchanger and a bolt in the chain case and it clears. But it's tight.

Tundra, I was shocked at how much better my sled floated in waist deep powder after the addition of the 159 x 16 track. I did end up with some vibration but I'm not sure if that's from the 16" track (maybe it is).

Yes, a 15" wide extreme may be a good way to go.

My 16 inch float well , for sure, but got some vibration, but the real reason its because 16 x 162 x 2.5 is a huge track, i want keep a descent track speed and hehe top speed.

:tg:

And i got a nice deal on Sprocket and Track. I leave the door open for 16in, i will buy only this summer. I keep money for riding ;)!

The sled turns the track just fine. Make sure once you mount your drivers, you should turn the extroverts down in a lathe. You will have quite a bit of noise for the first few rides if you don't.

Thanks Monster Max. The last time I did my Wahl Bothers drivers I turned them down in the lathe but I have to wonder what good it did. I mean you are basically taking down the very tips of the extrovert portion of the drivers to be the same height. Yes, I took off a little plastic but they were basically pretty darn close. I'd almost like to angle the extrovert tips a bit so they more easily align with the track windows. I think much of my vibration was from the square edge of the driver hitting the track window. Once I saw what was happening I got a dremel tool and rounded off the tips of the drivers a bit and things quieted down a bunch.

Thanks

Frosty

The vibration is because the timing is out on the 7's. They need a smaller tooth the same shape as the existing ones. I am installing a MPI tunnel and have 8 tooths. They are supposed to be way smoother.
