Here is a pic of my sliders at the front. I replaced them approx 400 kms ago. They look to be 1/2 the thickness of the original sliders. Are they still good or should I replace them? Is that line on the slider the wear indicator? I know Phazers will wear them fast and then stabilize.

the line is the indicator, they still appear to have some life in them

Look good to me, they should stop wearing for the most part. Loosen your track some. The easy way to check them is to use a 10mm open box head wrench and run it along the slides to see it fits iver them.

From what I can till is one is the wide and the other narrow. I like the narrow becuase they give you more to work with. Temper your slides with a heat gun(heat till they get melt and put them a of ice water 3-4 times.

you'll be ok.

throw on a set of low snow wheels up in the front if the funds are there to help.

i've got 2 sets up front & have very little wear. have my track a little snug just so my track don't ratchet, but you shouldn't have a problem.

Slider wear is a big problem with Phazers.
consider adding additional wheels to relieve extra pressure off the front of the rails.
Mine actually wear the most just in front of the rear scissor arm.
I only buy white slides since with coloured ones, the dyes they add for the colour actually weakens the slide.
You can also get graphite ones that last longer or silicone slides. Mind you the latter is mainly for racing applications.

I'm debating whether to install the low snow wheels. Many people on this board have issues with the bearings after a year and then need to be replaced. By the time you factor in the price of the wheel kit from Yamaha and new bearings each year its cheaper to just replace the sliders each year!

I put on 4 Excell wheels up front + already had the LS kit there, then 2 extra Polaris (boooo) idlers to the rear & had pretty much no more issues with sliders- of course they aren't touching the track much :-)

Went thru 2 sets the previous season, still @ 1/2 with 1800 miles on last Winter.
