Hi there!

As the topic sais, are there any common problems with the Nytro?

Its always good to be alittle prepared and know what the problem could be if you are in the middle of nowhere.

I think Dimebag and ntm can say a few words on this subject cause I know that they are high milage riders and have run into som smaller issues out in the field.
One of the things dimebag told me about was:

- Frozen starter relay (no start)
- Blown main fuse due to grip-warmer short circuit in the handlebar (sled dies)
- Exhaust donuts (wear out fast causing exhaust leak right under the gas tank) - install copper donuts instead

I `ve decided to print the fault codes and have them laminated and keep them in the sled incase I get a code.

Maybe we could discuss this in this thread and then make a new sticky thread about this.

Or ?

Yup...mine makes me spend a lot of $$ on aftermarket stuff...although it has never left me stranded in over 6000 miles.

Aftermarket drives production!!

Fuel pump relay - warm with hands.

Starter relay - short out between both terminals to jump start.

Faulty battery making the sled act insane (you remember..) - replace.

TORS acting up - easy to bypass, and use a tether instead.

ROV sticking due to too many rollovers - control valve function and clean frequently.

Upper a-arm / spindle bolt coming loose. - Loctite should work, but in reality it does'nt. Keep an eye on this bolt.

MCX wastegate clock/ hoses freezing and resulting in to much boost - drill a small hole in the clock to let moisture out, and install a block off plate.

People report on high slider wear - I got 12'000 kms on my slides and they still look new. Using scratchers in low snow conditions is the key.

Thats some of the things i came up with instead of sleeping..
Man, I'm too excited about the build.. ;)!

Any weird codes start popping up outta knowhere....wiring harness shorting out right behind the primary clutch on motor mount. Fix: move it lol. Push it off the mount and zip yie it up

Thats a nice list Dimebag!

When you say to short out between both terminals on the starter relay, do you mean to short it on the "innslag" or in the harness that plugs to the relay?

As you know there are 4 relays on the bracket infront of the engine, which one of them is the fuel pump relay?

Engine breather hose freezing up.blowing of the bottom oil hose from the reservoir to engine, empties the engine for oil very quickly.
Its freezing up in the aluminium t-connector suplied with the mcx kit for turbo breathing.
Ive cut up the hoses on both sides of the t-connector.

But i dont roll the sled over much :drink:

tors,ice build up

if you leave your sled sit outside much,or ride in deep powder, ice can/will build up on the throttle lever, and your sled will start but wont rev over
like 1000 rpm's, so you wont be able to ride it, you will be very surprised how little snow/ice it takes to make that tors engage and leave you stumped, until you notice
what the problem is!!!!! ride safe, ride hard~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jump the two relay terminals facing towards you when you look at the relay.. Not the harness. That way you bypass the whole relay, and the starter gets battery voltage through your tool instead.

With the OEM relay location it should be relay number 3 looking in from the front of the sled.
In case your fuel relay should fail, you can replace it with relay number 4 just to get home.
Its a identical relay, and it only controls the radiator fan.

Wootsch. MCX 190+ .. Ask me about that tomorrow.

OK awesome dime! So the relays closest to the engine can be swapped, cool.

190hp + ???
