Attack Help

The only pros to the Attack are better tracktion out of the hole and better floatation and ride, but even the ride, unless you are in a rough trail you would not notice it between that and the regular Apex.

Mighty, what trails are you riding if they are not tight and twisty? Get off the railroad grade or the lakes you speed demon. :tg: Try the trail from Marquette to Big Bay for tight and twisty.

Now, don't get me wrong, I had an 02 Ski-Doo Renegade 700 and when I was riding with a group of six with everything from 800s to 500 SnoPros, nobody could put a pass on or distance on me. I loved that sled. Should have been a Yamaha.

The long track felt much more planted at high speeds and in the bumps. In the turns, I was working more but I got more bite on the exit, that's the trade off in my opinion between a well set up 136" and a 121" ;)!

I didn't notice the weight between the two, but I sure noticed the length of track through the bumps. I didn't care for the longer track, maybe because I'm not used to it. Do not buy any of these sleds based on weight.

Better Looking Rear end????????? Arn't they the same?
I was refering to the length of the rear skid. The front is so long on these sleds that the 121 rear ends looks too short and out of proportion IMHO
I had many point this out on my RX-1 but never on my Warrior :ORC

First off have you ridden these sleds? I'm baseing my opinion comparing a Pro-action skidded RX-1 versus a Pro-action skidded Warrior. I guess the best people to ask are the ones that have owned both and swear they will never go back to a shorty. For starters, anybody ever heard of a fella by the name of Mike Knapp 8)

In fact, with me on my '01 600 XC and you on your Attak I dont think you would be able to keep up (even though you have a lot more power and speed).

You gonna go to the TY ride? Bring cash :flag:

LOL...Remember now, Im not talking about running on the lake or the Bearskin Trail. Im talking in the woods. Sorry Mighty, I dont race for money. I race for pure joy of destroying the egos of people who think that a new, fast sled can beat one that is well-tuned. Besides, I dont want your money! :tg:
And about the TY rides being "only for Yamahas", Im sure I wouldnt be the first person to bring a non-Yamaha on a TY ride.
Sounds to me like you are afraid you might get beat by a little 600. LOL :tg: :flag:

You have to choose the sled for your conditions.

I have not ridden in the states....so I do not know your conditions.

For people in Ontario....if you ride south of North Bay...Apex

If you ride North of NB....Attack.

I found that you could not negotiate the twisties as well with the Attak.

Reminds me of driving an extended cab long box pick-up truck.

For the super highways and the rail beds....an Attack would be awesome!

I have a proposition for ya Captain, you bring a couple hundred bucks and your sooowweet 2-smoke Polarass and I'll bring my cash and Fat #*$&@ Attak. We'll have someone else hold the cash and I'll race you down any trail you wish. I suggest a run like Paradise to whitefish pointe. What do you say :flag: Better yet, let's make this really interesting, Paradise to Grand Marais :flag:

Whatever. As I said, I dont race for money and I see it, we have nothing to proove to one another.
I merely pointed out the fact that an Attak wont handle the twistys as well as an Apex would. No need to get all defensive and start in with the, "my sled can beat your sled" BS.
I was just having a little fun with you, Mighty and I think you are doing the same with me. ;)!

Man this is going to be a long summer.

If you guys want to race that far, stay as far away from any TY ride as possible. Last thing we need is one of you 2 hurt. Can we get an Icon for Ego Check?...BBY

I'll hold the cash, I'm neutral.
Sure thing ;)!

My pointe in challenging him to a distance race is to show that overall the Attak is a better choice for most conditions you'll find in an average ride :ORC

Let me again say this is my opinion and I base it on my 2 sleds that only differed in the length of their rear skid.

I completely understand where you are coming from in that the longer skid wont pound you as hard as the shorter one would.
However, youve also got to consider the fact that with that longer skid you will have to work harder in the corners than you would with the shorter skid.
Dont misunderstand me, Im not AT ALL saying the Attak is a bad sled. Its just made for different conditions.
On the trails where I ride (lots of hairpin corners) I just dont see an Attak being able to run with an Apex.
Its like trying to maneuver an extended cab, long bed
F-150 in a croweded parking lot vs. trying to maneuver a Ford Bronco in the same parking lot. The shorter wheelbase makes it more nimble.
