Considering a skid swap for the attack
144 cmotion
137 rmotion
137 sidewinder skid
Maybe a m10 or m20 air wave
Any input regarding ride quality over another, ease of installation etc.? I can’t find any info on the first one..
seems like everyone who does the rmotion swap is really happy with it
Does the sidewinder suspension bolt right up to the apex and if so how does it compare to the rmotion ?
I’m leaning towards one of the 137 options so I can reuse my current track. Trying to keep costs under control.
Thanks guys in advance for the responses. I love riding this sled and plan on keeping it. Just would like a little smoother ride out of it

@Redbeard and viper_dave both run the m20 air wave in their sleds.

pretty much no skid other than stock just bolts right in. you need to transfer the mounting points/location from the donor sled to the one you are putting it into. i have done one and i used the centre of the drive axle for my front to back measurements. i then measured from the top of the tunnel to the centre of the axle on both sleds and each mount point and translated as nessasary as not all tunnels are the same height.

I swapped a sc10 3 into a srx quite a few years ago and it worked out really well. Looks like fast is done producing suspensions. How much better do the winders ride than the apex’s? Would it be worth exploring that option?

A properly setup Mono is tough to beat for a trail ridden Deltabox sled. What is it you are so unhappy about?

Team fast posted on their site they are no longer selling suspensions to the public.
Parts will be available but not full suspensions

One just popped up in the 7-Day Classifieds

i saw that. A shame. I had a really nice 136 in a pantera that I should’ve pulled before selling.

It doesn’t seem to eat the bumps on a whooped out trail quite as well as I’d like. I can get it to soak up the bumps but then it bottoms out. I helped dial my uncles sled in which has the rmotion, we were able to get that suspension to work much better. Love my attack have no intention of getting rid of it so I don’t mind investing in it to make it more comfortable.

Dual-rate spring and decent valving will make a world of difference with an older Mono skid. BOP has a nice cost effective setup or you can blow the wad and go for the full Hygear treatment.

I looked at the Hygear stuff. Is it as good as advertised? I’ll look up barn of parts and see what they offer.

If I decided to go longer to 146, would I need a tunnel extension?

You can go 144” with the stock tunnel extension. If you want to go 146” you can use the stock extension as well but need to swap the stock 2.52 pitch drivers on the drive shaft to 2.86 pitch. Both Hygear and BOP add bottoming resistance by increasing the spring rate part way through the suspension stroke. Hygear offers more adjustability by way of the crossover adjustment but you pay for it. I have a Hygear setup that I’ve never been happy with but I think it’s just because the tender spring is a little too much and I can’t get the plush ride I’m after. Bottoming that setup is almost impossible. I also have two different rate versions of the BOP springs and they’ve done exactly what I’ve wanted but ordered them softer than the Hygear stuff. Live and Learn.

Thank you guys. Lots of good info. I’ll update again once I decide which route to go. Might wait until spring.
