Is the gt suspension over the er is worth the extra money.
Other than being able to ajust it on the fly , does the gt suspension
much better. does it have a better quality feel. anyone experienced both.
I am coming from a rev 800x and for me the x suspension is worth it because of the smoother quality feel it the bumps. Should i expect the same difference with the yamaha.

I chose the GT. Came off an 05 Mach Z. I had to throw a lot of money at the suspension on the Doo to make it ride great and did not want to do it all over again this time around. It is a tough choice. The ER has rebuildable shocks and are excellent from the start and you probably would have no regrets, but Yamaha has that teaser out there..... the GT... with more external adjustability in the shocks.

Good luck with your decision and lets hope for a great season.

BTY welcome to TY!

how much money are you talking? i got off an 03 rx1 and got the attak gt.

GT vs ER

If you wanted in the future you could always install the ohlins EC shock in the ER, All the sleds with the mono are set up for the elctric shock. The suspension is the same otherwise. The controller for the shock is in the gauge cluster. I would say if you have the $ now and that's what you want go for the GT. I have to admit the thought of being able to adjust the shock on the fly is pretty cool. The shock is a Yamaha accessory, I think. I don't know what it costs but i'm sure it is not cheap. The stock RA mono seems to do pretty good and has a great ride, sometimes depending on rider weight a little spring tweeeking or revalving helps in bigger bumps. I don't know how well the rebuildable coil overs in the ER perform compared to the Floats on the RTX or the GYT's in the Apex GT.

You're looking at about $1000 extra for the upgraded shock package (give or take a little). I opted for the standard version for a few reasons. First, I prefer the blue sled which didn't have the GT option. Second, I had an Apex GT last season and didn't spend much time at all making adjustments. Third, I was told by my dealer that the standard rear suspension was better suited to a guy my weight (250 after a good morning push). A lot of people love the GT and constantly adjust it. For me, I pretty much get it set up comfortably and just ride. Plus the side adjust on the mono-shock is very user friendly as well. Basically, you can't make a bad choice here. It's simply do you want to anti-up the extra cash and is the difference worth it to you. Good luck.

Simple answer; If you are the type that constantly adjusts the rear skid get the GT. If you are the type that adjusts it once and rides (like me) save the cash and get the ER.
