Up in Lac StJean right now. 06 Attak with 12,185 miles. Sled has been running great last 4 days. Parked last night and went out this morning, but it would not start.
Tach sweeps and fuel relay clicks on then back off when the fuel pump should stop. Fuel pump does not energize. Changed relays with spares and still nothing. Starter does not turn over. Tried jumping sled and still the same thing. Jumped directly to starter and it spins. Jumped across screws on starter relay and starter spins. Changed out starter relay assembly with another working Attak, and still nothing. Changed green 40 amp fuse near starter relay and no change. Any ideas? Code 43 showing.

Code 43 is Fuel system voltage. The ECU is unable to monitor the battery voltage. (an open circuit in the line to the ECU). THE fail safe action states it should be able to start and run. A stupid question but, did you check your kill switch?

First thing checked. Loaded it up on the trailer and leaving a day early.

Grounding problem?

Just checked the wiring under seat and looks alright. Will be calling dealer tomorrow to bring it in. Will post here when they find out the problem. This is the first time I have kept a sled past 2 seasons and over 10,000 miles. It's the reason I bought a 4-stroke because of the reliable motor. I just hope the rest of the sled will stay reliable. Starting to have my doubts now and if it's worth keeping a sled for this many miles then having it worth nothing to either trade or sell.

My sled did the same thing at begining of season, had about the same milage. I blew a 10 amp fuse under air box by battery. Relocated fuse assy and holder to be accessed by removing black cover behind computer in front of sled.

Is that one of the fuses on each side of the starter relay? There is also a 40 amp green fuse there also. I swapped the whole assembly out with another Attak and it still didn't work.

12,000 miles holy crap!!!If You figure that out your good for 12,000 more? Where else can you go to get that? I hope you figure it out and tell us what your problem was. I wish I could have the chance to run my sleds that many miles like you can.

I'm keeping the sled a couple more years. Will go over 20,000 miles on it. By then I will just buy another one and keep this as a second or spare sled. I won't get anything for it anyways, and because I keep the regular maintenance up on it, I still trust these sleds to get me back. It's at the dealers now and I will let everyone know what they find out.

Same thing happened to my 06 Attak last season. Dealer couldn't solve the problem. Called in the regional tech and they kept it for 2 weeks. They said they set a new Attak beside it and swapped out all relays and fuses until they found the problem. I was so ticked about the $800 labour invoice that I stormed out without asking what the actual problem was.

We have a winner. Sled is fixed. The ground wire from the fuel pump was broke. The wire is in the main wire harness. Instead of tearing the whole main wire harness apart, they ran another wire along side it from the fuel pump to ground. They set a used RTX next to mine and swapped just about everything out. It was left to wiring then after everything else worked. Headed to Quebec Monday for 3 days of riding.

You were right also. Did you know of another one that did this?
