I bought my new Attak last Feburary and wanted the auxillary cooler installed before I took delivery.

Because I has studs installed, there was the problem of cutting tunnel protectors, clearence etc. and my dealer didn't feel comfortable with the whole project. We sent the cooler back and I ran without one.

It became apparent that here in the Northeast with low snow, icy conditions and in warm, Spring riding that this sled runs hot. I loaded the running boards with snow several times.

I've since diluted the 85% factory antifreeze mix to 60 / 40 and added Water Wetter and a temp. gauge but haven't run the sled since.

In any event, dealers in the area have gotten comfortable with installing the coolers and fabricating tunnel protectors and I decided to have it done.

I'm now being told that the cooler I bought and returned last Winter that cost about $90.00, has been jacked up to about $375.00! Add the labor and materials and you have a $650.00 to $700.00 job.

I could understand it if you had an option to order this sled with a cooler and declined only to find it should have had one. That wasn't and still isn't the case with this machine as even the 2008 Apex LX (whatever) doesn't have that cooler.

Doesn't seem fair or good customer service to me.

Just venting (and running without the cooler again).

That cooler will take up a whole lot of clearance in the tunnel anyway. Even with the tunnel protectors like the Rage has, (it comes factory with cooler in 06), the studs will hit it very hard. Think about some ski scratchers for the low snow periods. Do a search for scratchers and don't worry about that rear cooler the factory offers. I wouldn't put it in if it was given to me!

This is a CUSTOM BUILT cooler I made for my turbo sled last year. It takes no room under the tunnel. I started with a cooler from a ski-doo and welded on V-Max-4 elbows to it to get in line with the hoses in back. I had to go to the scrap bin to get what I was looking for. This is how they should be from the factory.

Mike,
What's with the center exhaust pipe?

Its a turbo sled. 265 HP won't go thru a completely stock exhaust.

Nice job

I mounted the mountain cooler with home made rails. Yes, the studs still hit even with 1" stand-off.

I was thinking about cutting the tunnel and mounting from the top with risers so I could leave the OEM rails. I just couldnt get myself to cut the tunnel
