I was in the UP this past weekend and on the morning of the last day I took off with my Attak and above 35 I started to get a bad vibration. I assumed that I had Ice build up so let idle to melt out, still vibration. Changed belt, still vibration, tightened track, loosened track still vibration. We took it easy from Bergland to Hurley to have them take a look at it at Ave's. They got me right in ( I am from Iowa, and they did not know me from Adam). 30 minutes later mechanic (Jerry, I believe) came to get me, he showed me what he thought was a warped secondary. I have to admit, I thought he was crazy, but he happened to have the back half so we put it on to see if it was the problem. Long story short it ran perfect. I got real lucky, as he said that the clutch half that he had they had not ordered, but was taken off an apex earlier for some reason (probably a aftermarket secondary put on). I was treated great, for somebody who literally walked in off the street to get help.

Now for the trail report:

The Attak worked great, and I now have 1200 miles on it. I chickened out and put new slides on before the trip (750 miles) as it turned out with the great conditions I wouldn't have had to. Also got the taller windshield just in case it was colder than the handwarmers could handle. I must say that my handwarmers, while not what my viper had, have been acceptable. The taller mid windshield did a great job of removing the extra air blast and also helped lift snow above me when going off into the deep powder.

And deep powder it was, we got around 12" while there, and could easily find 2' to 4' powder off trail. I worked the snot out of the Attak, and only got stuck once (which is of course the only picture taken of me) and that was when I was limping to Hurley and didn't want to run over a tree that I thought was too much for the skid plate to handle. Trails were very smooth, and not too busy at all.

Another group is going up this weekend, I would love to go put another 450 miles on, but I just can't take any more time off as we went to Laramie already this winter.

Thanks to this board for the info and hope I can be of some help to some of you sometime.

Kirk
