For the first time I was left stranded. It was a beautiful day. Trails were incredible. I was going for a good 10+ miles doing 70mph to wide open, things were going great. I felt a slight vibration while riding. I came to a stop and got going again, about 30 mph and sudden loss of power and no breaks. The picture is the result.
110 miles away from home. I did not hit anything besides normal trail bumps.

Wow. Thats crazy, what a strange thing to have happen.
Im sure you can get that exchanged under warranty.
Sucks that that happened, but while your at it, might want to consider extroverts, not to prevent that from happening again, but not having to worry about ratcheting would be nice.

Take a pic of the ends when you get it out, I'm curious to see if it's been cracked long.

mine broke in the same place - had a vibration all year - complained to yamaha early on, dealer couldnt find a problem - they wouldnt cover labor, just the shaft because by the time it broke, it was out of warantee -

I ahd the same thing happen to me twice, once on my turboed rx1 and my old vmax 4. Both cases I had a vibration under load. Also I'm lucky they both let go at a very low speed.

I had one go on my Polaris 440 Pro-x. It was the last thing I thought would go on any sled. I think I will have to check the Warriors for cracks!!!!!

wow...sounds like a weak link for sure...I know if mine breaks too soon...I'll get it covered under warranty...and I wish I knew of those of you who had premature problems when you did..

It's no surprise they break there with the small hex bolt creating a nice little stress riser...

hehe...
not the 9000 miles.
but it seemed like maybe some others happened before this mileage...and I know if it failed at like 3-5000 miles...I would feel that's premature for a failure like this

Mine broke on an 04 Warrior around 2000 mi. Same thing, I had a vibration for a little while before it broke. It looked like it was cracked a while before it broke. I was only going about 15mph.

I wish! Unfortunately I have had several problems.
This is the first time I have ever been left stranded though.

Ratcheting has never been an issue for me thankfully! Plus if it is covered I will definitely be taking the warranty repairs!
