I'm thinking about installing a back up camera on the truck to ease the trailer hookup and parking process. Does anyone have any experience with these in snow?

I have a factory installed camera. Very handy for hooking up to the trailer and backing in general. The snow sticks to the camera so you need to keep it clean.

loved the factory one I had could see the trailer ball in the screen so could just line it up with coupler.

There is a portable unit with a magnet and handheld monitor that looks like it would really work great. It could be put on the back of your trailer after hooked up. I think they are over $200 though!

Had one on my old truck that was wireless, hooked its power for the camera to the backup lights. Screen was black until you put it in reverse then about a second later it popped up. I mounted it to the license plate and it was perfect for lining up the trailer and you could see when you were right under it. Got it at Pep Boys for $59.

Almost all the aftermarket radios with screens have video capabilities. The cameras are under $100 for one with nightvision. I made mistake of getting a real cheap one without nightvision. So at night I put a little LED light on tailgate so I can hook up trailer. Mine the camera is on the gate latch. Days of getting in and out of truck 3 times to hook up trailer are over now. Also helps with Parallel parking. I have had people honk horn thinking they were going to get hit. Plenty of room when you can see!
