Bad starter relay?

So was trying to take advantage of the great day today and get the sleds ready for the season. Had the Rage on battery tender all summer and have a full charge. Got the sled started but before carbs fully primed it stalled. Went to turn it over a second time and nothing. Can hear clicking coming from the relay but it won't turn over. Popped the relay out and gave it a couple of taps, still nothing. Did a little searching on here and sure seems like the starter relay is dead. Electrical has never really been my thing. Want to jump the relay to confirm its not the starter. Do I just put a wire or screwdriver across the terminals on the top of the relay.

Just looking for a little confirmation I'm heading in the right direction. 10 years with this sled and it the first issue I have had.

Mine started doing that but I could jump start it then it might not do it again for days. Took every connection off cleaned them and havent had an issue since.

Good point. The relay connections are all clean but I never looked at the battery terminals. Will have to take a closer look.

There's an electrical connection block next to the battery. Twice I've lost power to the starter because of corroded connectors on the power distribution block. Check all electrical connections and use dielectric grease on them.

Yep that's the relay I'm talking about. Connections look clean but I am going to double check and add some dg.

Your battery could also be bad, despite being on a charger. Rockmeister knows the elec systems on these sleds, PM him if you run out of ideas, he's helped me before.

Sounds to me like a battery problem. I change my battery every 5 years, automatically.
