As the Rage is very limited in storage for tools, shovel, battery cables, medical kit, etc. I am wondering whether to purchase the luggage rack and bags or just the bags. Does anyone have any info or recomendations? I am the type of person who trys to be ready for any emergency.

Well, for smaller storage, the windshield bag works perfect! I keep maps, zip-ties, a lighter, flashlight, matches, etc in there. It's just enough storage for small items like this. It sounds like you wish to take more with you, but I'd still consider the windshield bag in addition to saddle bags, etc.

For what you're talking about bringing (shovel, etc) I'd recomend the luggage rack so that you can strap the big stuff down, and get the windshield bag for the smaller items.

By the sounds of it you might need to pull an ice fishing sled behind you! J/K of course. That is the one complaint I had about my Vector is the lack of storage. And why do they give you the 2 can holders under the tools box? Ever try and keep a can of pop in these. Not good. Explosion big time.

I have one of those Swiss army fold up shovels that fold up to about 8"x8"x2". A small medical kit is also included
in the things I want to acrry. I can keep a jumper cable in the storage area where 2 cans of pop/beer is. Yes, rsvectorfreak, its kind of stupid to think one can carry a couple of cans of drink in their storage area. I don't know what Yamaha was thinking when designing it. I guess I'm thinking of purchasing their luggage rack and then bungy a water proof bag to it. Just thought I would check to see if anyone else has run into this problem. Thanks for your input though.

This is my Rage Rack, I needed a better way to get stuff out to the fish house. Yes it has some pit falls but beats the heck out of trying to carry everything in your lap. I have a brake light ordered to put on the rear bar just wish the exhaust pointed in another direction.

I built a sleigh for ice fishing ,I used skis and springs from an old sled .
I have towed it at 100kph and it was like there was nothing behind me .I might, make some thing like that for warm days when we don't kneed the tent .

I don't know if it can be applicable to the rage but here is a good solution for the RSventure. I installed this Givi top case at the beginning of the season and I'm very satisfied. It give enough space to bring the emergency kit, supplementary tools and spare cloths, and keep the nice look of the sled. It is also safe for all it contents because it is a rigid locked case also locked to the sled.

I had made a metal braket and fasten it to the existing 3 bolts that were secure the plastic rack.

Hi Wilson
The large part of the red lens is only a reflector but there is a space in the center (around 4" x1") that is built to receive a light. Givi sale the light kit but a wise guy can buy the material in a car parts retailer and get something cheaper.

I will install mine (the light) this fall for the next season

Bye
Alain

I hardley ever ride mine with the back seat on .Mostly use it when ice fishing . I would like a hard case that fits where the seat goes . I may have to make one out of fiber glass.
