I've been thinking about a battery relocate for some time now and since I have a turbo there's now air box and easy access to mount it low in front of the engine! I see no cons to this as I'm 270lbs and ride with a trunk bag most of the time, so weight balance will likely be better for me. Second is the battery will be warmer after riding which is always better and it'll have way shorter cables.
Is there any cons to this that anyone can see?

The other reason for remount is because I came across this thread about battery orientation and exposed plates shortening batty life which was a complaint with some viper owners.

it makes a lot of sense. Just the ease of getting to the battery would be and issue. Unless you set up booster extensions if ever needed.

Have you actually measured the distance from the rear of the sled to the front where you want to place it. Not sure if 8 inches would make a huge difference. I just looked at it with the engine out of the sled. I don't have the time to measure, new season opening up. Dam early spring. Cottage renovations.

Yes booster extenions would be a must like the apex had and my apex had the original battery for 5 yrs and never had any issues buried under the airbox.it makes a lot of sense. Just the ease of getting to the battery would be and issue. Unless you set up booster extensions if ever needed.

I leave the seat bolt off using just the spring clip to hold it on. Easy to get at.

Ya! But I'm going to mount it in front of the the motor to keep it up right like it should be and warm when riding.

I believe this happened to my sled this year. Bought it in December, with a brand new battery, dead battery after three rides. Missed out on a great day to ride. The other reason for remount is because I came across this thread about battery orientation and exposed plates shortening batty life which was a complaint with some viper owners.

My battery actually leaked on one ride. Good thing I checked out everything after the ride, had battery acid on the solenoid and al over the bracket. Hasn't leaked since though.
