The Stock Yuasa YTX20H(L)-BS in my 2021 is already testing bad, this despite me trickle charging it once a month religiously all summer in my climate controlled shop. What is the end-all, bullet-proof,custom,carbonfiber,kevlar,titanium,billet,lithium ion, full race/bad #*$&@, battery to end all this? When you are broke down, snowing like hell, 20 miles south of Gwin, Michigan, by yourself, in the dark, no amount of money is too much for a good battery. I have heard Earth-X before, but lightweight is not the goal here, absolute, enduring rock solid reliability is. Thoughts?

I also dont keep mine on a charger all the time. Rotate the one charger among all the batteries which have been disconnected from sled. Charge for 3 days each. Have had chargers go bad and sleds with a drain.

I also think these batteries sitting on an angle isn't the best for them. If the plates are exposed at all they start to deteriorate.

I just put a new Shorai LFX24 lightweight in mine. The last one (Shorai LFX18) I had lasted 8 years in a number of different sleds, so had really good luck with it.

What charger are you using. I leave all my toys on noco chargers year round. All Yuasa batteries, you either got a bum one or that trickle charger is frying it.
Like you, all my toys are on Noco Genius charger/maintainers all year round unless I'm using them. Bike, quad, sleds. mower. Had a quad battery die on me when I needed to plow to get out of my lane in the morning. Battery was toast. Ever since that day I have all my batteries on Noco.

The one you have. Sorry but best there is. Carry a boost pack.
X2..
I think you just got a bad one, happened to me a few years ago on a grizzly 700, original battery was 6 years old so decided to change it with another Yuasa, not even a year later and it was dead, bought another one and it’s been good ever since.

I have used Earth X batteries in my Apex for 6+ years and my SW since new and have had zero issues. I leave the batteries in the sleds, never charge them in the off season, and just top them off in the fall.
I have only had a dead battery when I left my Gap Flasher plugged in for an extended period of time when the sled was not being used...my bad.

On all my other toys/vehicles I have onboard Noco Genius chargers to keep the batteries topped up.

soo i just went through the same thing, battery whoa's on ATV and sled, found out why sled was running a little poor because it did not have the full 12-13 volts, i just got a NO-CO battery, they make the best booster packs and now pwer sport battery,,, stays at 13.4 volts and has 600 cranking amps compared to lead acid of 310cca, the sled runs way better and the weight saving is a bonus, they say in the extreme cold, just turn your key on and off a few times in morning first thing to start the internals warming up and then itll whip the engine over no problem. these sleds rely soo heavily on electronics that a full charged battery is a must and you will notice the difference of the extra voltage. i will carry my small booster with me for first real cold -25-40 days of riding just in case. but this battery you can get in 2 days from AMAZON and it is a nice piece. NLP20, i leave my GAP flasher on as well.

I just replaced my OE battery.6yrs old still cranked good just didn't trust it at that age ..replaced with same battery. Yuasa. Always on a tender off season.

My 19 SRX was the same. Batteries just aren't what they used to be.
Well said..
No matter what you do in off season, charging once a month, keeping on trickle charge all summer, etc etc, if battery is a lemon it’s a lemon.

Must have a bad one or something harmed it. Still using my stock battery on my 2017.
Start my sled up 2-3 times during the off season and give it a good 2 amp charge once I do my yearly maintenance usually mid October. Otherwise it just sits there, but I have been wondering when to replace it because I know once a battery fails, it’s done! So the stock battery seems like a quality one to me, but for you NOT! Suck!!!
