Maybe someone hear can help me out with a queastion. Changing out the pos finger track in my 03 today I noticed the lower jack shaft bearing seem to be facing the wrong way. The bearing side should face inside the case right? Maybe put on wrong at the factory?Sealed side should facing out is the way it should go? No damage but were'nt a few guys having problems with the jack shafts. Am I'm wrong?

Something doesn't add up... what is a lower jackshaft?
Shafts: Crankshaft - through the motor.
Jackshaft - secondary clutch to chaincase.
Driveshaft - through the track.
If you're referring to the DRIVESHAFT, then am I correct in understanding that you have no seal from the chaincase to the SNOW? The bearing that goes in there has NO seals, there is supposed to be a *real good* seal fit into the chaincase around the driveshaft. If that is the case, then you need to buy a seal. That should also mean that all your oil sprayed out onto your track.
Please clarify.

The sealed side of that bearing is installed by Yamaha facing the chain to prevent the bearing from getting contaminated by the metal particles that end up in the oil from sprocket to chain wear.

There is a real wicked big seal on the chaincase around the shaft. If its there, you're good.
