Now how do you change out the speedo bearing? Do you have to take the whole driveshaft apart or can you do it from the clutch side?

I think you have to take the shaft off. If it went bad you will probably want to have it on a workbench to get it off.
I don't know how to do it though, sorry
No problem maybe someone else who has done it will chime in.

If the inner race didn't 'weld' to the shaft, you should be able to get it off and back on without getting into the case.
Two set screws located in the bearing's inner race collar on the inside of the tunnel. Speedo sensor and bearing retainer under the secondary.

The outer race was easy to take off and some bearing fell out with it. I backed off the one set screw on the collar the other was gone. I am having trouble taking off the inner race mostly because I cant get a hold of it with anything. Do I have to take the set screw right out or just back it off. Any ideas on how to take the inner race off? I gave up on tonight and I sprayed it down real good with penetrating oil. Checked the jack shaft and it looks really good and even still had grease in it. I took off the seal sprayed it down with wd40 and blew it out repacked it with wheel bearing grease and put the seal back in. Just need to get this inner race off and a new speed sensor and I am back in business.

Not a lot, I don't remember how much I used but I was worried about pushing the seal out on the other side. The air is more to get the wd40 out so it won't break down the new grease.
Qtips o found where great because the old grease would stick to it a bit.

I used 50lbs on the hose and it worked out great.

If you have a torch you may be able to heat that race up enough to get it moving but.......I think you'll likely have to take the case apart. You MAY be able to slide the shaft to the speedo side enough to get a puller on it after you take the case apart, other wise you'll have to take the shaft out.
Someone else may have another solution.....

I heated it up and I can now spin it fairly easy on the shaft but it gets tight when I try to pull it off the shaft.

You've got a burr on the shaft and most likely it's from the set screws. Try and file/emery the part you can reach and see if that helps. YOU CAN DOOOO EEET ROD LOL!!
Well I had enough of pissing around with this thing and went for the long haul. The sled and I are really getting personal now. I took the suspension out and noticed a couple of wheel bearing need to be changed will most likely just do them all. Got the chain case apart and I am down to taking the snap ring out of the bottom bearing. I need a bigger set of snap ring pliers as it just kept slipping on me so I called it a night there. Drained the oil in the engine as well and I may go with a reverse kit and extrovert drivers as well. Once I get the snap ring off the bottom chaincase bearing how do you take out the drive shaft just move it to one side then the other?

Thanks for all the help this has been quite a learning experience.
Just remove the bolts holding the bearing assembly in.Remove the whole assembly. No reason to remove the snapring on chaincase side unless replacing that bearing also.
