2017 Sidewinder LTX SE
Ive noticed on both my Sidewinders that I get a strong burning rubber smell and even occasionally a bit of smoke when reversing. This is happening frequently. Both machines have less than 200kms on them- a new 17 LTX and an 18 RTX 50th. Is this normal and has anyone else experienced this? It was never an issue last year on a 17 Renegade Adrenaline 850.

These have mechanical reverse so unlike your Ski-Doo the motor does not run in reverse. Check your belt deflection, everything turns forward just like going forward.

Clean your belt... mold release or filter oil that was wrongly applied to some air filters could have dripped... sharpcarbide and or drag... when you're trying to move 600 lbs plus you and only a couple inches of belt is being grabbed... any thing mentioned can cause this... and of course...make sure your parking brake is off.. we have all done that one time or another!
