What is the difference between an 8DN-17641-00 and an 8DN-17641-01 belt? I know the 01 is the newer belt...but what did they change in it?

There was something funny about it... maybe marginally wider? This is based on my memory. Belts aren't at the top of my priority list

I'm going from memory here (not having one handy) but if I remember right the -01 is actually about 1 to 1.5 mm longer......hardly noticeable but enough if you're experiencing belt squeal or creep.
Of course the -01 just happens to be almost $40 more expensive too.....who'd a thought THAT.....

new belt
01 belt is slightly wider, and the cost is the same as the prior belt 00.
Buy it for 57.00 all day

Just switch to an "Ultimax 3 #138-4432U3 belt". That way you can consentrate on some other problem with your sled that probabily won't happen. RS Vector ER.
Was it the "Parts Yamaha" guy that once said the 01 comes from a brand new machine sets / factory in which targetted specs & characteristics are same as original. Differences should narrow down to the 00 as tuning goes.
This was at the time, the explanation i choose to swallow; and there was also sales guy song too.

I run these on my Attak and have been very pleased with the performance. They don't last near as long as the Yamaha 8DN belts but they cost me $10 less and they are covered by warranty. Between my Attak and my Wife's Viper I think I've sent back 3 blown belts in the last 2 years and all have been replaced free of charge (except for return shipping).
