I used to use Dayco Ultimx belts on other Yamahas I had, but since they are gone, what else are people running?

You could use the CARLISLE-Ultimax #138-4432U3 or the next one up. The Yamaha belt squeals too much and is tough on the primary clutch.

From what I have read on here, the Yamaha belt is the only way to go.

I just installed a new one and have zero squeal, but I also installed an Ulmer clutch kit so maybe that has something to do with it?

For what it's worth, Ulmer also recommends the OEM Yamaha belt.
(They have also come down significantly in price as well ;)! )

belt

Have been using the Ultimax XS805 on my Yamahas since 07 with no problems.Have on with over 7500 miles on it and it is still good enough for a spare.Got it Parts Ulimited, around 120.00.Have a new on on my new 13 Vector. :4STroke:

The yamaha 8dn is a very hard belt will last a long time but it will slip a little with out you even knowing it the XS805 is a little softer belt an works very will an is not so hard on the clucthes .

Thanks for all the feedback. Belt on sled good for now, just installed a 911 Response kit that always smoother things out! Will probably buy aftermarket belt when needed.
