Since many are experimenting including me here are all the Yamaha Belt specs I could find.

No problem. Wish they gave specs like the others shown but those are out of service manual. Sure seems to be some great benefits to the belt experiments. May the best belt win!
 
Very interesting on the 44.0 to 44.3 measurement.....that's almost the same as the Nytro as per the add below,

That cat belt will be too wide and won't work.

I see one thing very interesting in the belt specs you have provided. The 8JP has the same top width as the original 8DN-00 where the new 8DN-01 is narrower. One of the magazines was quoted as saying the 8JP was the same as one of the 8DNs but never specified which one.

In my experience I like a belt to last a year of riding and I average 3000 miles a year on each sled. With help from family:) The 8DN-00 would usually blow around 2300 miles. Blew 5 of them this way. Not a big deal but a little annoying on stock machines. Since the 8DN-01 came along 10 have made it the whole year. I have only blown 1 8DN-01 and that was the day after running across White Otter lake in Ontario. 17 miles WOT in two feet of powder. 75 on the nytro xtx speedo and 35 mph on the gps:)

The 8DN-01 has been an amazing belt. And if they went back to the old version with the new viper belt would love to know why?

That said I have 1500 miles on my stock Viper with no issues so I probably won't switch belts until I mod it or have issues.

Do I have to do ANYTHING to run the 8DN-17641-01-00 on my NEW 2016 XT se ,sled has only 143 miles on it and I need a spare so may swap and keep original belt as the spare ? ? ?
