Bender II not running correctly.

What pilots you do you have? Take out the pilot jets to clean them, make sure all the tiny holes on the sides of the pilot jets are open. If some of the pilots are clogged everything goes out of sync on the low end, been there done that.

I clean the carbs throughly. The looked pretty good. I blew into two of the pilot jets and they seamed like they might have something in them.

Anyway got it all back together and played the throttle possition to were I can hear the engine purring at ideal. I set my fuel screws at around 1.8 turns out. It ideals right at 13.5-14.0.

WOT is sensitive yet. This happends from ideal all the way up to 3/4 throttle. It just sputters.

If I easy into it up to 3/4+ throttle and nail it it comes unglued.

My next plan is to try different charge tube jets. Hope this works.

I am seeing 10-11 alot from mid to wot also. Plugs look really good, might be a little fat, but all and all its better then white!

O ya Matt, the oil line is hot. ;)!

Has the sled all ways run this way after you put it back togeather? (timming?)
Look at all your fittings/t-fittings.
What do you have in it for carb springs?

Yea i see about 10.5 wot i need to jet my down but runs GREAT no popping or any thing.

familyman , I hate to mention this, especially since you are helping and providing good information, and I know I don't spell everything correctly, but its messed me up a few times reading and re-reading your posts. When the engine is running low RPM's, that's "idle", "ideal" is where you want the engine, jetting and whatnot to be.

I try to type way to fast....sorry!

It idles good and runs out nice when eased into it. I think if its out of time it wouldnt do that.

Okay, at idle I am not seeing anythingon boost guage. Reading is 0. I also have my boost gauge on the intercooler and need to move it.

The carb springs are the green ones, jetting is stock, my needle is all the way down. my fuel screws are at 1.8 turns.

I believe the jet in the intercooler is a 400, but I need to pull it to be sure.

All my hoses are tight and have clamps on them. But the ones on the top of the carb boost that go the bov. I have seen them blow a little "smoke" from them after being shut off. Could they be the ones doing it?

AAHHH Put the stock springs in a go for a ride!!! Mine did the same thing with the green springs!

Skydog :jump: ;)!

:drink: If that is all it takes.....

I put those green ones in right off the bat, and never tried the stockers back in it.

O ya, im running a 500 jet in the charge tube.

500 is fine put the stock springs in a let us know!! Now go DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA  :jump: ;)!

SKydog

Dude..my green springs are for sale! (already in the classifieds!)

OMYGOOOOOD! Hang the #$%&* on. Im only running 8lbs of boost and holly cow!

I need to learn alot more about these carbs. I do know one thing, but not sure why, those green springs did not work on my sled.

It was just falling on its face at wot. Now it is right on.
