- Yamaha Nytro Mtx 2009
Hello. I have a 2009 nytro mtx and recently launched off a ditch I couldn't see and hit the other side somewhat hard. Now I'm noticing my brake side ski is three to four inches further back than the throttle side ski. I cracked the steering knuckle assembly and replaced with a new one.
I'm thinking after looking at forums that it might be due to the a arm bracket being "egged" out. The bolt was sheared off when I took off the a arm.
If I bend this bracket back will it fix the ski positioning issue? Also what is the best way to do this? I can't really afford to take into the shop as its my first sled in a long time. I ordered the dual keel skis and want to install if I can get the alignment fixed.
I tried uploading a picture but cannot.
In addition the brake side ski drops while in the air. I'm afraid I'm going to pole vault myself. Could this be from the bent bracket?

You can see how the steering knuckle assy is nearly straight up and down on this side which I replaced compared to the other side which is spun more clockwise

Welcome to the bent subframe club. Do a search on this site about it and you will find all the answers needed. You have bent your subframe by the look of the gusset with the big round hole on the bottom of the frame. Good luck! It is fixable.

Just put "bent subframe" into the search bar on this forum and go from there. You will either have to straighten yours or replace it. Replacement procedures are in the sticky FAQS. GrizzTracks sells a gusset kit that has to be welded in. Good luck.
