Yeh I saw that and am considering it but would also like info on other rails or at least where to look for some that are not tipped up, just straight rails and possibly stronger.

Ulmer did make 144" rails with only a 2 degree tip. check'em out.

Just emailed Mike at Ice Age they don't make any 144 rails for the Nytro but if I send one of my rails to them they will make them. He said they would make whatever I wanted tipped up or straight. And all this for $350 sounds like a good deal and probabley the route I will go if the dealer won't cover them.

I have also been talking to Iceage about making some custom rails. They now tell me they are waiting for a guy to send his rails in. I am assuming this is you.
I am trying to get them to change out the adjusters to the Arctic cat style. I also want them to change the stamped steel rear control rod mount at the rail, to aluminum and extend the height all they way to the back of the rail. I want them to look closer to the arctic cat or pol mountain sled rails.
One of the reasons I have been talking to Iceage is because my conversation with Ross at Hygear. He tells me that the rails on his test xtx has been getting twisted. He has added a cross member by the rail reinforcements and added larger washers to the rear adjusters. He also recommended adding a fourth wheel which I already have. So I am planning on trying to beef these things up.
Iceage will also anodize the rails for you.
I just thought I would compare notes.

Yes thats probabley me that someone at Ice Age spoke of but the thing is I am not in a huge hurry now that winter is over. The biggest factor is I got called back to work in NY and my sled will be in MI. So unless I get it done tomorrow it will be a month before I get home again. I talked to my dealer this morning and they said its a pretty good chance warrenty won't cover them so Ice Age is going to get my business its just not going to be right away.LeeKo said:

In engineering we have term for the condition of your rails. We'd say they are F'd Up.
If you have custom rails made, make sure they are as tall as possible in the area where the set shown have bent.

Welding those two plates together would make it alot stronger also.

I think they should cover that under Warranty. I don't think that is a driving issue, but more of a quality issue... Those supports should not be bending.

I think a lot of things shouldn't be bending on these sleds, but hey they shaved 1 lb off each slide rail. 1 lb off the spindles and 3 lbs off the subframe, too bad all this stuff is now bending. Lets bring the weight back. Give me the Nytro with an extra 15 lbs of reinforcement to the weak areas. THat's what we want.
On another note, is there any way to bend that slide rail back the 4 or 5 degrees then reinforce it? Or is that enough of a bend that the aluminum in now too fatigued and will cause real damage and pose safety issues if it was to be bent back?
