I might want to take a week off this season and make a trip to ride some new trails.
I have a Nytro short track and my buddy has a ski doo renegade.

I would like to stay on trail for the most part as my sled isn't a mountain sled.

I have ridden in WI and Western Michigan. Just looking for a place within a reasonable driving distance from IL to load up the trailer and see some new sights.

Suggestions?

It depends on what you are looking for. If you like tight twisty trails, I would go to Price county,Wi. good snow, low traffic and they do pretty good with the gromming. If you like some High speed trails I would hit the U.P. anywhere from Hurley,Wi. and East. If the trails are groomed you can throw a lot of miles on! One day we rode from Goegebic to Escanaba without seeing a bump but there are other times......... lol...
Check out the TY rides section and come ride with TotallYamaha for a weekend before heading out for the rest of the week with your buddy, All makes of sleds are welcome on the rides!

Come up to Sheboygan Co. WI. We have great trails for you sleds and not a lot of sleds on the trails. Only about 2 1/2 hours north of you.

If you don't want the traffic of the u.p. Or northern Wisconsin come see us on the north shore of lake superior anywhere north of Duluth all the way to Canada offers a very nice trail system.

Come over to Midwest WI either Trempealeau county, Jackson county, Lacrosse county or anywhere in that vicinity. You can have your long fast trails which are fields or old rail road beds. You get the corners in the woodlands and the best part is all the hills and bluffs that the trails go through. It's a beautiful area that is if we get the snow in this area and the groomers can get some work in,but when this area has snow like last season, it is a beautiful place to ride. Keep an eye on trail reports and weather before you make any trip.

NE Iowa always has something going on. Lots of different types of trail-riding.

Iron River WI has great trails and typically has snow. One of my favorites is SE MN is they are lucky enough to get snow cover.

I 2nd this post. When they have snow, the areas mentioned might be the best kept secret in WI. Price Cty used to be #1 in my book but I get sick of seeing "Winding Trail" signs after an hour.

north shore mn if you have never been...gooseberry falls in the winter is pretty cool to see...lots of cool things to see along the north shore anytime of the year

The North Shore is definitely not the place to go. The trails and forest roads are endless, there are trees everywhere and sometimes it gets really cold. You should go to Wisconsin.

I know its a long drive (12 hrs for me, and Im in SE Mich) but if you have never gone to the keewenaw, you should. LOTs of snow, during the week has very little traffic.

My buddy and I went two years ago, we were cutting ribbon for 2/3 of the day and all night.

And theres a Ramada Inn right at the bridge in Hancock, only feet from the trail, and theres a Yammi dealer (M&M?) on the other side of said trail.

I'm there every weekend, sometimes twice.

Lot's of great trails and scenery. Lot's of sleds too however. I'd say it's akin more to U.P. type traffic.
