What do you guys think is the best possible suspension grease for the bushings and zerks on the skis?? I am about to try to replace and grease the bushings on the mono-skid myself, and I hope to just do this once this winter. With a bit of luck, I won't lose the skid trailside since I haven't tried this before, but I don't really have a savvy dealer nearby. Synthetic, normal, brand suggestions all appreciated, cost doesn't matter given the small quantity
If anyone is in the Madison area and could lend a hand, large bribes will be offered

A decent synthetic is spectro. I have been using it for years. I'm not sure what kind of miles you rack up a season, but I do not think that you will get away with this just once a year. After a ride in normal conditions of 70 or 80 miles I find that I usually have water in the skid pivot points.

I use a synthetic grease, don't care about name brand, but like to grease the skid 3-4 times a year.
Personally, I think the quantity of times that the suspension is greased far outweigh the quality of the grease that you use.

I'd love to grease the skid more frequently, but without zerks, I don't imagine pulling the skid out every few weeks. I normally average aobut 1,500 miles per season.

I would recommend greasing the suspension after every weekend of riding, even if it is only 100 miles. Water gets in the pivot points and will start to corrode and contaminate the grease. Keep it greased and never have to replace bushings, saves time and $$$$$$! Just my 2 cents

I agree with Oak Hill, I always grease everything when I get back from a ride. If nothing else, it gives you a chance to look everything over.

I see, 05 Mono. No grease points. In that case the quality of grease is even more important. Go with the spectro or equal.

I have had very Good Luck with Amsoil Waterproof Synthetic Grease
The key qualities are "Waterproof" and "Synthetic". Prior to using the Amsoil, I used Valvoline Synthetic Grease. There where no claims of being waterproof on the Valvoline brand, and having used both, there is a difference between the two
A good testimony of keeping things greased with better lubricants are my jackshaft and driveshaft bearings (Clutch Side Amsoil used) are original on both sides. I use Mobil 1 75W-90 Full Synthetic in the chain case. 04 Warrior with 7700 miles.
I lube before each trip to Quebec

Use a low temp Grease. High Temp Wheel bearing grease does not work well. I do mine after every Trip. You would be surprised how much water is driven out. Of course my rides typically are at least a couple hundred miles a day with 2-3 days / trip. Lots of rides in between trips. But, I don't worry much about greasing on the shorrter rides.
I have over 10,000 miles on my 00SRX700 with using nothing but spectro full syn. Until last year every bearing in the sled including the suspension and wheels were original.

while the suspension is out i would add some greas fittings to the cross shafts like yamaha should have done
also amsoil waterproof grease is one of the longest lasting greases out there

I've ZERTED all of my suspension on '05 not that big of a deal to do, and I also grease after every ride no matter how many miles driven and NO more bushing issues.
The other bearing to watch for is the famous SPEEDO one, I just use a needle and and give it a squeaze every so often...
