Hey guys, my rx1 mountain has rail mounted spring scratchers on it already, but one is broken. I haven't ridden this sled yet but hey it's snowing right now! They have the clips on the bogie wheels to store them up.
I'm wondering if I should get another set like this, or does the rx1 prefer ski mounted? What is the best setup for these sleds?
Thanks.

scratchers are personal prefernce. i run rail mounted cable scratchers on the 2011 xtx as they can be run in reverse with deployed and gf doesn't know about having to pick them up. on the 09 , 16 and dads 05, we are using the running board mounted ones that have to be picked up when using reverse. both styles work well for me. youngest brother runs spring type rail mount scratchers on his 09 apex mtx and has good results too.
never ran the ski type yet on any sled.

Ok, I'm thinking about just staying with the spring type that are on there. Already set up for them might as well. I'll pull one off and see if it has any numbers on it. I have no reverse so I should be ok.

I tried the cable type scratchers twice and they broke on the first ride each time not to mention the damage to my slide rails. I installed the BRP scratchers that mount on the slide rails and they are awesome. You can back up without picking them up and they do the job that they're intended for.

Very happy with these on my 2013 Apex. Can reverse with them down, the tips are double sided for extended life, the replacement sets of tips are affordable too.

More specifically, am interested in knowing the part number for the scratchers since there are quite a few BRP scratchers and also where you chose to mount them.

I bought REV-XP Summit #860201728 and I ended up grinding a 1/4" piece of aluminum on each side to fill the window in the slide rail as shown in the highlighted circle and then I had to drill one hole in the rail for the spring mount and one through the custom fitted piece. Need to drill one hole for the bracket to support the scratcher in the up position.
