Honest top speed for Apex........

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but what can be done to better top speed(clutching/gearing) if one was willing to sacrifice some bottom end?

There are some fast f7's and some medium f7's and some lemon f7's depends on what day of the week it was made. You cannot compare the two sleds or even the two manufacturers. Take an apex for a ride. That is all you will need. If that is not fast enough then save up for a turbo or s/c. These sleds are ferrari's or lambos. Apex's are the most consistent muscle sled I've been on. Though they are "heavy" or there stated hp is not as high as the other "stated" hp. They will run with every other top sled from the other brands. When my attak had a few small mods, air box, exhaust, pc-3 and ignition box I could smoke a z1 with some tricks on it. 1000 feet not even close, across the lake with a 35-40 rolling start we sould pull pretty close then I would start to pull away at 100. Ad a s/c or turbo and you have enough potential to scare the crap out of yourself no matter how fast of a rider you are, and still have a trail reliable sled. Put 250 hp out of a f1000 and see how trail friendly it is. Test ride a stock one and you will see what I mean.
The 1100 turbo cats are faster, but not by much.My friend i ride with has an 800 etec were the same out of the whole,he gets me mid rannge and were the same top.I have a stock 07 rtx,no picks in the track.
another guy i used to ride with had an f7,it wasn't even close,i'd beat him every time.

As said, light weight 1" track.
Oversized idler Wheels and fully clipped track to reduce drag.
Clutching and gearing.
Rear and front end suspension setup.

One thing is for sure depending or where you ride and how you ride the top end speed isn't as important as the speed from 0 to 90 and the Apex get's there very fast and easy......if the 2 stroke boys want to run and race top end let's see how long they last compared to an Apex and especially after having over 12,000 miles on a bone stock 2007 Apex that would still run 120 plus on the wish-o-meter all day long and as for as long as you wanted........

2015 100% stock Apex 128 inch from dealer, only 800km on it: got 174 kph on <GPS in many situations, so it was fairly easy.. but did not get ideal conditions to try

i must say a 2015 renegade X 1200 did 157 kph, Arctic Cat 8000 2014 did 167 kph same place same time so that gives you an idea

hey guys, you are all saying your so called stock sleds are getting 125mph-130mph on the dream meter but yet my 2006 apex rtx with a yamacharger, fuel controller, 24/38 gears, clutch kit, 1 inch track and after market exhaust with 7000 miles on it and I could never get that hi of speeds on glare ice holding it for a mile or more, so please tell me what im doing wrong ?????

2011 Apex standard couple weeks ago, saw 113 speedo, and 110 GPS. It wasn't clamped for too long, kinda had to let off, was on a long hardpacked strightaway trail and had a hill coming up quickly! This thing is plenty fast for me...

Stock 06 Attack, 132 mph dreamo, 116mph gps.

My friend hit 132 twice on the dream o meter on his 07 and he wouldnt know how to mod it if he wanted to.

I had an 06 GT With Ulmer clutching, cold plugs, Ulmer Air box mod 144 studs and Windsor plates. I got 118 GPS out of her in spring conditions on a lake. The speedo said 130 something. Seen 13x many times.

My 07 Attack GT has never gotten into the 130s on the speedo but I have done 113 GPS. On long groomed stretches in Quebec she will bounce from 117-119 that's about 107 GPS.
