Does a big wheel kit on the rear axel eat up some track adjustment? I just converted to a 136" with Hartman extensions and I am out of adjustment. The track is still pretty loose. The only thing that I can think would cause this, I changed from 9 to 8 tooth drivers just because they were a good deal for anti-ratchet cogs. If the bigger wheels would help, maybe that's my only option... Any input would help.
The short answer is yes, bigger rear wheels should get you back some of the adjustment, but how much and whether it is enough to make your set-up work, I have no idea.

Thanks, I didn't realise that dropping one tooth would make that much difference! I called Tom Hartman and he said that he sent a package for the stock setup, so it was an error on my part. I had told him mine was stock, but then I got this axel. He is being very helpful about it but I think big wheels are the way to go. It never fails, every project I get into turns into another can of worms, very expensive worms!
Let us know which wheels you go with and how it works out for you.
Kurzy,
May want to talk to these guys:

They sell offset axles, they may be able to work something out for you that will move the axle and wheels back further.

Thanks Birdmayon, I have been looking everywhere and it seems that Yamahas aren't that easy to fit with oversize wheels. I'm starting to think that it may be smarter to just go with 9-tooth extros. I'll keep looking.

Big Wheels... NOT!
So, I did the research, the math, and decided the way to go was to put 9-tooth extrovert drivers on. It's hard to find offset axels for Nytros and they are not cheap, which I am! On top of that, I wondered if changing the drivers without re-gearing could cause any problems with the computer that controls fuel delivery and timing? Maybe not, but I know that 9-tooth worked for me before. The Hartman extension kit was a fairly easy install and Tom Hartman is incredibly helpful when dealing with.

Nailed It!
Well, I rode 100km today and this what a Nytro should ride like! I've read about hundreds of different Mods. and as far as I'm concerned, the 136" track and Tuner skis make this sled work like I want it to. I don't even have studs and it hooks up like crazy with just a 1 1/4" Ripsaw II. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!
