Larger intercooler at least.

You only need to change the turbo and you are good to 20-22lbs. Any higher than 22lbs the intercooler needs to be changed. Ted Jannetty has all the parts needed to upgrade your turbo or you could probably talk to Justin at full power performance. Also if you have one of the earlier built kits you will need to reinforce your intercooler or it will crack at approx. 20lbs.

will the bigger turbo bolt up in the same location or do i need to change/modify mounting plate

The 2560 will bolt right up. You will need to use an adapter plate for the air filter or have the compressor machined to accept the air filter directly. You will also need to notch the mounting plate for the wastegate and bend the oil lines but the new turbo can be installed in under 2 hours.

thanks, will i notice a difference with the bigger turbo at the same psi or does it just let me pound more boost into it.

Do a search on the 2560 vs the 2860RS. Lots of reading there.

With the 2560 you will notice a difference at the same boost level and probably more of a difference with the 2860rs.

ON the Bender Rear mount the GT2560R is a big upgrade, 14 psi on the 2560 is way more power than 14 psi on the 2554 that came with the kit.
16-17 PSI for long pulls is OK but as you go up in boost and power shorter distances become a necessity.
The intercooler that came with the kit although is not state of the art by any means, is adequete for what your doing.
To keep Lag to a minimum Ceramic coat the whole exhaust system including the exhaust housing, it Really Helps the Response.
Ted.
So I can get a lesson here, How can 14 psi be so different in performance on turbo sizing. I just upgraded to a bigger turbo as well, a 2860. I think I have a handle on what the answer is but I want to pick heads to see if I am close.
Thanks

Go with the 2860rs and you will only need 16-18 lbs. That should put you in the low 300s for power. My front mount never got beat at big moose on the snow side with that setup. Talk to ted, I think he is running this size.
