Out for a shake down run yesterday, well good thing I did. The oil return from the block to the upper oil tank line split wide open. It's the stock line and oil tank, no interference or rubbing. Check yours out, I had no oil in 2 minutes. Good thing I caught the oil light right after I started it up to go again!! About 1/2" wide by 3" long split, and notice no threads in the line for pressure...

Was the sled outside in the cold when you started it? If so I have seen the vent line for the oil tank freeze up. So when you start the seld up and it warms the oil and the oil expands and the vent is blocked with ice it builds pressure. Most of the time the vavle cover half moons are the first to blow out. But in your case looks like you blew a hose first.
Good thing you cought the oil leak right away.

No I had been riding the sled for about 30 min and then I stopped and started videoing my friend for about 5 min. Started and saw it and watched it for about a block, then stopped.

I brought it in and claimed it under my warranty. I wanted to make sure it got documented with Yamaha.

not much pressure on that line, so must have been an issue with that hose...

Hopefully part does not have to come from Japan...

After closer inspection, there was 3-5 other small cracks starting on the inside of that hose.

Im really surprised it was warranted. I see what really looks like a impulse turbo drain line. Good for you that dealer helped out. I know turbo didnt cause the line to blow. But oem's are always looking for away out. I work @ a truck dealership. The factory never wants to pay, we have to prove it to them all the time. I try to look out for the customer, if we dont have customers. I dont have a job!

Yup it does have an Impulse. It's the stock Yamaha unmodified return line that failed. I didn't care if the line was covered, I just wanted it documented with Yamaha. So if others had this problem they wouldn't be the only one... Maybe the start of a new line or "bulletin" sent out?
