blowing Ignition fuses

Both my 05 and 03 warmers seem to get the job done fine. I hate that the 03 resets itself every time I restart the sled. I seem to always have to turn them down not up. I wonder if this is because the gloves I use are fairly thin and not bulky ones?

I never have issues with the warmer temps on either of my RX's

I wonder if the previous owner of the 03 rewired the warmers b4 I got it..

I was out on the lake today with my 03, noticed my hand warmers seemed to get the hottest when holding speeds. There were times when I was running steady speeds 50-60 mph for mile or so and had to turn them down. Other times I made full throttle bursts then slowed down, the hand warmers were barely noticeable. They were on the same setting (hate how they reset). I'm thinking when you are holding steady speeds, the voltage/amperage is increasing, therefore making the warmers get hotter. This may be the reason the fuse keeps blowing. As far as it being the ignition fuse, the warmers are only on when running, therefore circuit must run through ignition switch. Switch gets power from fuse.

Doesn't matter if I hold speeds or not, my hand warmers suck all the time. I live in an area that is littered with hundreds and hundreds of lakes and they are a major part of the trail system so I have some long lake stretches reaching 10-15 km and it makes no difference on my warmers. I had the wifes attack out today and did a 10 km stretch of lake at about 80mph and the handwarmers were barely noticable on high. They suck too.

I have been scared to wire my hand warmers in parralel again to see if that was the reason that I was blowing the ignition fuse because everything has been good since I put the wiring back to factory (series). Instead, I just use mitts now instead of gloves on the cold days. I did some -30c rides with the mitts on and my hands were toasty warm. I also spray foamed the inside of my handle bars where the hand warmers are. This made a big difference in the hand warmers. I guess it must keeps the heat from entering the air space inside the handle bars and pushes it out to my hands. Either way they are warmer. And I don't plan to sled much in colder weather that -30c
