Ratpack said:There is a post about newbies with RX1's. Says something about if the moon and sun are not lined up you should clean your carbs. Not really, but you do need to clean your carbs. REALLY GOOD cleaning.
I dont think I said anything about the moon and the sun, but you will need to clean the carbs, and if it still is dumping fuel, clean them again. It is very easy. Get used to it, as this is the cure for 95% of the problems of the Rx1 not running properly.
Go to the link at the top of fourm; TYHome, left side of screen, scroll down to tech pages, choose snowmobiles, and there is a ton of directions with pics. I would also use the tech link for the install of the ECP kit, as it has step by step removal of jets and slides. Just clean out the jets and remove the flakey white stuff on the inside of the carbs (damn ethenol deposits). It is time consuming, esp. the first time. It can be done with the rack on the engine, however I find it easier to remove the rack and clean the carbs on the bench. I can now remove the rack, clean everything and re-install in about an hour.
ps-I would still run a new ground wire.
