Well I preatty much cant't count on yamaha so does any body have an engine for this thing for sale that dosn't require your first born??? What I plan on doing is either purchasing a complete used engine (if possible) or piecing together one with a combimation of R1 + Rx1 parts and maybe some carillo rods and low comp turbo pistons! I WE BE A PART OF THE TURBO/SUPERCHARGED REVOLUTION!!!! Any and all suggestions would be nice Thankyou!!

In the pas there was one on ebay that sold for $2500 complete with primary and carb rack! But I didn't need one at the time, if some one would be willing to take between $2000-2500 (you keep rack and primary) I would take it!!! Especially condiering 03's and 04's are selling for around $4500-5000! Broken RX

Lazy, not much left of the blown engine worth selling- Must have ran wth out oil pressure just long enough to wipe out everything including cam lobes!! I do want to keep the sled especially considering the time that was spent on the custom paintjob!! Thats why I'm looking into my options to put in another engine into it!!

Completely wiped out is exactly what I'm looking for. I have an itch to build an engine thats pretty much completely custom. No chassis is plenty ok, not even sure if I want to end up with it being in a sled.

Lazy, The other problem is that there is a hole the size of a softball right were the 2 case halves join along with cracks in the main support webbing! The crank isn't even fixable- was so hot that the counter weights on both sides of the journal that went are blue! Which destroys the metals strength and causes small cracks that arn't visible to the eye! I don't know if i would be willing to take a chance with this crank and destroying another engine! The cylinder head is also broke were the valve spring sits (caused by piston hitting the exhaust valve) ! Other than that if you are interested I will consider selling the motor!

LB, where exactly are you? I would think shipping would be more than a dead sled is worth! I checked on shipping mine about 1000 miles west, and the shipping alone is more than I'd get for the sled...and mine still runs great!

Lazy, if you are intereted there is a motor from an R1 (wet sump) selling on ebay for I beleive $1100 (running condition), thats if you don't need the same mounts that are used for the rx1 plus if you don't need it to be a dry sump system!!

You guys are killing me.

I really wouldn't be going for shipping. I'd rather drive myself. Then I get the fun of the drive AND have a REASON to go!

Broken RX: I know how to patch and reinforce that kind of damage. Would add a couple pounds of dead weight to the engine, but it would be plenty strong and sealed. As for the crankshaft itself... when it blows, it blows :)

One of you guys... or both... I *really really* want something thats nice and screwed up to play with. More because I actually *like* to work on this kind of messed up stuff than that I want the final result.

The last really really screwed up engine I redid was a '90 superjet 650. Its a 2-smoke, so its simpler, but I was 15. Works great now, but its sat on my trailer for a few years (don't really need one). It had a nice hole in the crank from CORROSION (right through), and the oxides in the case and cylinders were compression packed.

I hauled it up from FL Keys.

nkrxrider: That motor is too good. I would feel terrible ripping it down to modify the crap out of it.

Toronto, but forget about shipping. I'd drive. And smuggle. Just need to get a sticker to match the number on the side of mine.
