The stock spring is part of the reason this happened. That, and the overly conservative valving that the ohlins ec shipped with for the North American market.
If this shock is going to be saved it will need a new shock body, a new seal head, a much stiffer spring and a revalve at a minimum. that said, you may be almost all the way to a used take-off shock. However, if it hasn't been revalved the resprung the same catastrophic failure will likely occur if your riding style does not change.
Call Bruce at pioneer performance.
Often times he is selling rebuilt recalibrated ec shocks for a deal. That or he may be able to bring yours back to life for a price that isn't cost prohibitive.
I do have the stiffer spring. My next step will be to recharge and rebuild the used one I found.

Good to hear!
Having my EC revalved for moderate to aggressive trail riding and moving up to the 6.1 kg/mm spring rate (spring number 696-14) completely transformed this performance of this shock for me.
I used to get my brains beat in by my rear suspension. Now its point and shoot prettyt much regardless of what our trails look like.

I just picked up my shocks. I got the two front one rebuilt and got the rear Ohlins rebuilt and revalved. I can't wait to put them back on and try them out. We just need a little more snow in southern Manitoba.
On a different note, I just ordered the WRP Apex seat with 2 more inches in height. It's going to be a totally different sled this winter.
