Who would like to see some head to head 4-stroke - 2 Stroke turbos ?
I have many different 2-stroke turbo manufacturers wanting to see some head to head action and comparasins between the two engine types. What do you think ?
I would like to include all boosted sleds in the video to please the whole snowmobiling community, but I wonder if adding this to the movie will take away from the theme ?
Originally the theme was to film 4 stroke turbo sleds only, but with NO support from Yamaha Canada itself leads me to believe that they don't really care if they are expose'd at all.
But my film is for the people, and that is why i'm asking YOU !
What would YOU like to see ?
thanks for your answers !

I dont know about that those vids just always draw controversey and never really end on a postive note which I think would be bad for you.
I bet I'm a SMALL minority but I would like more info on the sleds, some quick fast forward of the build of each one followed by stunts from that sled showing it kicking snow around like mad.
I just know when I'm at a bar watching these types of thing with other riders when its just extreme no matter the brand everyone goes Oohhh Ahhh and when its head to head it turns to bickering

osp drag race sled (apex engine based)
yeah... boost 1 was the very best of the 1 2 and 3rd... havent ordered 4th yet but soon to be.
I am with kinger too, have some good specifications on sleds then ride them together...
And yes yamaha canada are.... not good at all to support anything I guess... they did same with GForce at bonneville........ no support at all.

I would love to come out east and film some of the turbo action on the lakes and trails there. I'm sure they are dominating the snow. That would make a great segment to break up the mountain powder and chute climbing.
I think if there was 2 stroke turbo's and 4 stroke turbo's on the mountain together, you would have natural competition no matter what. I want to work with some of the 2 stroke turbo's this year because I think they also deserve a bit of recognition for their efforts in the evolvement of boosted sleds.
Yamaha Canada supports many different causes and society's in our regeon, such as the avalanche centre, our local snowmobile club and the sled Revelstoke society. They also support fund raising for other causes, which I think is very admirable considering the other 3 manufacturers don't drop a dime.
I'm just saying that even though I have had a Yamaha specific motion picture series, which I think has been a success, helping promote the company which almost gave up on producing sleds altogether, and even throughout the prime of the Big Iron Shootout days helped promote 4 stroke sleds, trying to show people ( who were in major disbelief ) that you can boondock a 4 stroke, and that they do go through the deep powder with ease, etc ,etc. I truly believe that I had a part in at least selling quite a few sleds to the folks who saw that a boosted 4 stroke was the most reliable, powerful sled to build. BUT, whether Yamaha thinks that i'm not worthy of sponsorship, or they would rather pay a bike racer 35 million per year, but not keep Veedy going for another season, i'm not sure. I guess all that free advertising for them has been good to them, so they figure it will just continue to come.
Would be nice to at least get a sticker in the mail....
Rants aside, these are all good points of view, I think that the narration plays a key role in a video. Even though a moving picture is worth a million words. I don't think the video should lean towards 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, but rather what are the benefits of having a 2 stroke turbo, what are the benefits of having a 4 stroke turbo, and what would work best for you ? Let's face it, this is a Yamaha forum , we are all Yamaha owners ( I have Yamaha sleds, quads, dirt bikes and marine products ) and we can be a bit biased to the product that we love. But joe across the raod may ride a Cat. Let him enjoy what he has and maybe if he boosts his sled you can race him down the back alley, lol.
Rider Bio's may be a good idea. Show a bit of the human side of things. And the machines they ride can be exposed as well.
these are great ideas, i'm open to any suggestions.

- Which one? I have 6
I thnk a "BOOST MOVIE" should include all Boosted sleds.
Let the steep and deep be the limit of these machines. Ya most of us own Yamahas but most "Motor heads"appreciate the work that goes into one of these machines regardless of Brand.

Get all the turbo builders together in a room, preferably a bar around a round table with jugs of beer then film them going at each other over the merits of their kits. Now that would be interesting. LOL

I don't think you have to do it "head to head" unless you want to. You could have some 4 stroke only chapters, 2 stroke only chapters, and then some head to head (or just riding together).
As far as the sponsorship deal goes - you can turn the video into an advertisement (ex. TS8). Or be a true independant (freedom of the press?) and not held to any brand or aftermarket parts in your video.
I know the world doesn't go round on hugs and kisses, and the bottom line is $$$....
I would add the 2 strokes in and let it rip. You'll sell more videos.

I'd include a little bit of footage from well set up two strokes(a little bit
), and some Powderlites 1200 skidoos, some pretty sick ones being built, I like the footage of multiple riders booning in deep and just fuggin around in the trees in the deep. I think cat and mouse footage in the deep is fun to watch. Some new terrain would be a nice change, Boulder is played out, although still impressive to watch and participate live
. Some footage a little farther west would be sweet. Something new and unpredictable would be cool, I still think the 4 stroke tbos and deep sunny pow are your bread & butter. My favorite footage on B4 was Laird shredding some pow. I dont like the single exposure footage as much, I liked when you use to have 3 guys listed per chapter and then mixed footage of them. Also like the footage from the top of the chutes, fun to watch the sleds coming up. In the chuts are cool too but too dangerous 4 u.

Get back to the basics much like the boost 1 boon-docking scenes some good music = awesome
All the movies are getting to be the same dare to be different I will buy bit just for that.
If you do some drag racing and build up stuff make it extra features not the movie itself.
All boost is good but 4-stroke boost is best
Come up north , Yukon and Alaska in the springtime . How about Arctic man and Valdez hill-climb are only 1 week apart and offer some new areas and riding to film .
cheers......

How about some REAL dyno pulls. with details how the dyno was set up. An assortment of kits and setups, like how much does an apex with 28 true pounds on c16 really put out on a track dyno as opposed to a engine dynomite.
How bout a nytro stock motor no shim with 20 lbs and meth. Now that i will play on loop at the shop.
Same goes for the other manufacturers sleds.
How about an 1200 twisted with 10 lbs vs. a nytro and apex at 10 lbs. Sure would love to see the comparitve graphs. Talk about money well spent on my end!!! More info on the sleds that you feature, clutching, gearing, boost controllers, how it works section. Show an install in time lapse with a clock and day calender in the background. etc etc.
How about seeing a rider that is as capable as Chris B on a nytro and see him pull some of those lines in the trees, is it possible??? Show me!!!! HMMM. maybe I should make a video.

I think you need to do a boost build off in the bonus footy or even in the vid, have two well known companies build a sled with a set boost amount and have them do a shoot out, or have them set a $$$$ limit for the build and let them see what they can come up with no matter what brand of sled....
