Boost movie 5th year filming ideas

I would love to come out east and film some of the turbo action on the lakes and trails there. I'm sure they are dominating the snow. That would make a great segment to break up the mountain powder and chute climbing.

I think if there was 2 stroke turbo's and 4 stroke turbo's on the mountain together, you would have natural competition no matter what. I want to work with some of the 2 stroke turbo's this year because I think they also deserve a bit of recognition for their efforts in the evolvement of boosted sleds.

Yamaha Canada supports many different causes and society's in our regeon, such as the avalanche centre, our local snowmobile club and the sled Revelstoke society. They also support fund raising for other causes, which I think is very admirable considering the other 3 manufacturers don't drop a dime.
I'm just saying that even though I have had a Yamaha specific motion picture series, which I think has been a success, helping promote the company which almost gave up on producing sleds altogether, and even throughout the prime of the Big Iron Shootout days helped promote 4 stroke sleds, trying to show people ( who were in major disbelief ) that you can boondock a 4 stroke, and that they do go through the deep powder with ease, etc ,etc. I truly believe that I had a part in at least selling quite a few sleds to the folks who saw that a boosted 4 stroke was the most reliable, powerful sled to build. BUT, whether Yamaha thinks that i'm not worthy of sponsorship, or they would rather pay a bike racer 35 million per year, but not keep Veedy going for another season, i'm not sure. I guess all that free advertising for them has been good to them, so they figure it will just continue to come.
Would be nice to at least get a sticker in the mail....

Rants aside, these are all good points of view, I think that the narration plays a key role in a video. Even though a moving picture is worth a million words. I don't think the video should lean towards 2 stroke vs 4 stroke, but rather what are the benefits of having a 2 stroke turbo, what are the benefits of having a 4 stroke turbo, and what would work best for you ? Let's face it, this is a Yamaha forum , we are all Yamaha owners ( I have Yamaha sleds, quads, dirt bikes and marine products ) and we can be a bit biased to the product that we love. But joe across the raod may ride a Cat. Let him enjoy what he has and maybe if he boosts his sled you can race him down the back alley, lol.

Rider Bio's may be a good idea. Show a bit of the human side of things. And the machines they ride can be exposed as well.

these are great ideas, i'm open to any suggestions.

would you mind supercharger apex/rx1?

I have a pair of them and a turbo apex.

mayeven film some radar runs??

you could even see my tpex againts a tm7 :jump:

but you would need to come on east side.

Yes sled specifications!!! And all brands but BOOST AND FOUR STROKES ONLY!! LOL And some good drag racing!!

Would like to see turbo sled on the mountain. A mountain that is so high and steep that only the craziest riders and the most powerful sleds can make it to the top :-)

All turbo sleds allowed.

I like music in sled movies, but I really like to hear the sound of the turbos at wot. Breathe is the only sled footage that doesn't need the sound of the sled, it's the one and only...the best cut ever made in the sled movie industri ever. VEEDY you're da man, thanks for sharing :-)

long and deep bottom less powder. even here in prov of quebec we have some spots where only turbo sled will make it to the top after a good snowfall.

I think you need to open it up to any boosted sleds. Lets face it, Yamaha's and especially boosted Yamaha's are still only a small portion of the sled market. It's obvious you put a ton of time and effort into these vids and I think you should be rewarded for doing it. Opening it up to other manufacturers will only broaden your viewership and sell more vids.

I think head to head 2 vs 4 is a great idea. Yes it will be controversial, but that gets people talking and you want them talking about your vid. Sex and controversy sell. Let the Yammies compete with any or all comers I say. Just keep the all boosted theme. Well, maybe have one pull from a normally aspirated sled that ends in a spectacular fail just for giggles!

You could always bring the equipment out to our shoot out in New York, Mostly boosted sleds, arctics, ski doo and yammis, full out drag racing. last year we had just over 50 sleds in the race, and 2 years in a row now yamahas took the crown!

but I am with everyone else go with all boosted sleds.

I got something that would turn some heads when my sleds done. My boosted nytro stomping out some sleds with my wheelchair strapped on the back would turn some heads :-o I dont usually race with the chair on the back but i could make an exception for a video. Could call it crippled chaos lol

I think it's great that your not letting anything hold you back but i thought we told you in another post to get comfortable on the sled before you start really pinning full throttle. I'd just hate to see anybody get hurt. Make a long story short. Had a friend, many years of racing and riding bikes, alot of experience. Decided to performance up his bike just to beat everybody. Just so happen he put boost on it. on the way back from Great America, took an off ramp too fast and hit the guard rail. Lets just say multiple bags for clean up. Learn to respect the power before you become Johnny Racer. I bet you ask all the boost guys on here and they will tell you the same thing. You're going to own a whole new animal.

Im ready for it! I have rode a boosted hyabusa before. I will get it down before I get to wild. I am going to have to rip it on the grass after its done. I was just suggesting something for the video, it would definitely turn some heads. Thanks for looking out though but Im not to worried about it

I think you need to do a boost build off in the bonus footy or even in the vid, have two well known companies build a sled with a set boost amount and have them do a shoot out, or have them set a $$$$ limit for the build and let them see what they can come up with no matter what brand of sled....

Is this you Jason ??? :tg:

Originally the theme was to film 4 stroke turbo sleds only, but with NO support from Yamaha Canada itself leads me to believe that they don't really care if they are expose'd at all.

Brent

Yamaha doesn't really give a crap about much.

I just bought the wife Sledheads5, and please, try to think of something other than going up the same damn mountain in every video. Very boring!

:nos

Veedy you know that you are out doing yourself every year  . Your video's are epic and each is different, B1 was just about Darko and it was killer, B3 was more about hill climbs and just as good in its own way. The thing that you and I talked about last month (I will let you reveal it) IMO is the very best thing that you could do as a side segment and a very educational piece. ;)! The thing that I used to like about movies from the past is when the rider was climbing or carving his name popped up, sled type and maybe turbo type. You dont have to do it every time or segment but it lets the viewer feel like he is more in tune with the rider. Then when he talks to his buddy's about the vid, he is like did you see the black sled with the MCX on it :-o. Keep it up Brada

Breathe....aaaaaahhhhh. When I have motivation problems to build my turbo-Yamaha during hot summertime, I will watch breathe.

About every turbo-movie: Less music and more turbosound.

2-stroke TBO and 4-stroke TBO in same film or same scene....it works in Thunderstruck 7.

Stick with the fourstrokers!
Moore boondocking segments. Darko in no1 and Randy in no3 rocks. The awesome climbing is great but what all can relate to is the powder over the hood, screaming in the helmet scenario.
