Ok, Can I get the part and fix this myself ? Has anyone done this ?

It appears that all you would need to buy is the plastic cover and plug.
I have no idea how to get it off or what lies beneath.

some help is appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone? I have the same problem, wires are broken at the plastic cap. The cap swirvel but can't get it out.

The plastic cap is actually an electronic solenoid and has a clip holding it into the shock body however the clip cannot be accessed to remove it. What you need to do is pry up on the edges of the solenoid and normally the plastic around the clip will break allowing you to remove and replace the solenoid. From experience some come out pretty easy others can be a real pain to get out. If your not planning on replacing the solenoid don't try removing it as it will break upon removal. The solenoids are sold through Yamaha and cost around $175 even though they are not listed on the microfiche you can get them. We normally stock the solenoid if anyone needs one.

Yummy - thats a great price considering its Canadian. I think we might have just found the first part cheaper in Canada than the US! Do you have the part number for the part your getting?

Yes, I'm also VERY surprise of this (Maybe the part is made Canada..ahahaha). Should get it by tomorrow, will let you know.

When you get it all back in one piece try routing the wire this way, seems to be working for the Attak in our group.

FYI

Just ordered the solenoid (101$ cdn).
Do you have A part# for it?
Did it come with a new wire?
Thanks...

Yes, the solenoid comes with his wire and plug (solenoid side only).

I don't have the part number. Since then I have switch to ZX2 suspension.

Good luck!

servo motor

When my wires broke I took the rail out and soldered the wires, put insulator over solder rerouted wire, 6000 mi later still good. boone
