Hey everyone,

About to pull the trigger on a Sidewinder BTX - SE. Other model I was looking at was an XTX - SE.

Just curious if anyone has the BTX - SE with miles under their belt and how their liking it.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!

I have that same sled. I never had any of the problems everyone talks about on here. Just a cracked turbo cover that Yamaha is replacing. Just do the regular checks on the sled and adjustments and they run fine. The seat is soft and skis work good. There isn't much snow so I mostly trail ride, it hasn't gotten hot. Overall a fun sled that gets to 100 real fast.

I have the BTX SE absolutely love it. Haven't had it deep deep but it seems to get up on top pretty good and stay. Don't notice the extra length on trail coming off a 144 nytro. 1300 miles on original belt. No major issues. Ride is great. Pulls like a freight train.

How does it work compared to your turbo' d Nytro....I just sold my turbo' d Nytro and looking at buying BTX Se but scared it won't pull as hard as Nytro

I had the same dilemma so I kept it! The wife drives it so if the BTX didn't match up I still had old faithful. The ride is much better on the BTX and I had a pretty well set up nytro, with Star suspension and MountainTech front end. Verdict is still out on which pulls harder, my nytro dyno numbers were 185HP and when it hits it hits hard. I was running against higher hp sleds and doing very well. The BTX has a smoother power band it seems, little to no lag and just pulls low mid high range, pulls hard but a different feel than the nytro if you understand. One thing I liked more of the nytro was the transfer as I like to wheelie, but I think it is just a set up thing and I should be able to get more ski lift by dialing it in. The sidewinder seems to want to stay flat. Overall I can't see you regretting getting one, the more I drive it the more I love it and that says a lot because I LOVED my nytro. Where are you in N.B.?

I'm liking what I'm hearing! I was really worried the btx wouldn't be trail rideable at all. You guys getting much pushing in corners? I think the xtx is awesome but want that added traction in the deep stuff for play days. As it sits now I will be spring ordering a LE Btx.

A little bit of push when 3- 4 inches of lose snow , none at all when hard packed or freshly groomed. Not extreme by any means.

Quispamsis but do most of my sledding in Kent Hills and Miramichi area

How does everyone like their BTX on the trails or off? I finally am getting miles on mine, so far so good! I am swapping to stingray mods center spring to help with lighter steering and get a little more show off wheelie action.

I'm going to play with:
70lbs front
120lbs rear
New center spring on about 4 turns from contact.

I like the 1.75 track on the trails though, it really gets traction!
