Out riding today and noticed that I can no longer click on high.

Anyone have this problem.and.a.solution before I drop 300 bucks on a new switch

Sorry it's the headlight switch on a 2019

This the actual part though.

Make sure its the switch first. There is dedicated power to the high/lowbeam, its a shared power source, red/yellow wire at the console harness. There is a specific fuse for the headlight as well.

Fuse is top one, second column as you look down on the fuse block.. 20amp
Relay is top one, second from right

Headlight Dimmer Switch

1. With the key off, open the hood; then disconnect the
12-pin handlebar connector from the main harness.

2. Read continuity between the red/yellow and the blue
wires for the high beam (red/yellow to white should
be open circuit). (note: Red/Orange in '21 service manual)

3. Read continuity between the red/yellow and the
white wires for the low beam (red/yellow to blue
should be open circuit). (note: Red/Orange in '21 service manual)

4. Voltage check, can read red/yellow to black, 12-15
VDC feeding the control. On high beam, blue (+) to
black (-) 12-15 VDC, on low beam white (+) to black
(-) 12-15 VDC. (note: Red/Orange in '21 service manual)

I will check that tonight, but I'm not feeling a click when pushing it in. The high light on the dash comes on but goes off when I let it go. Apparently there is a detent in there but I'm not sure if we can get at it.

If the dash is coming on, its the switch. Mine definitely locks in place when the high beams are on.

I have had mine freeze from moisture inside switch. After sitting in a heated garage it began to function properly again. The switch wouldn't detent when frozen just like you are having with yours. Mine was replaced under warranty.
Dry it out with a hair dryer.

I also have a switch assembly if you need it—- mine is from a 2019 sidewinder LTX LE with IQS — same as the cat—-
