Ride an Apex or Attak with stock skis with ski savers (I bought and tried some) and then one with aftermarket skis. You won't have anymore questions when done.

Pilots you can get for about $300 or so. I got mine off e-bay for $225. They aren't the best on deep snow, but either are the stockers. Mine are the 5.7" but you can get the 6.9" which should help you in the deep. But the Pilots perform excellent in all other areas. The A Arm covers are 3/4" underground sprinkler tubing cut to length and then down the middle so you can spread them apart to fit over the arm. They work awesome, you can get a 50 foot roll for about $10.00

Just out of curiosity what will the benefit be for switching ?

Much better steering response and steering traction in soft trail conditions.

I tried all of the skis mentioned above and the c&a Razors seem to be the best cornering ski of the group but they do require additional muscle strength. Great ski if you ride aggressive, if not the Simmons are still the best all around with the pilot being very similar.. Stock skis with bergstrom triples, shimmed, ski savers and the front widening strips are just okay... I personnally can't believe that Yamaha would put that stock setup to market, it was/is the most dangerous setup I have ever ridden, 80 miles and I trashed the stocks for the simmons. Everyone is different, Swiss sledder loves the stock skis, shimmed with ski savers, this still didn't work for me... Good luck

I don't love the stock ski with the Bergstrom triple points, but I do like them and it works for me. The only problem I have with the stock ski is that it pushes too much in the corners. I will probably go with C&A's next season to eliminate the push.

I personally don't like the Simmons ski on the Apex/Attak platform but do like the Simmons on the RX platform.

Love the Razors. Fantastic ski. They will turn regardless of conditions and Ill bet you would have a hard time finding any other ski that will turn in any condition. JMO. However, In fairness, I have not tried the Slydogs, but have had no reason to...BBY
