Can you put a damper on a 2015 Viper?

I have a 2015 SR Viper Ltx-SE. I see that select 2016 LE models can have a dealer installed front and rear damper. Can you put these on a older machine like mine? My thoughts are, that like the you tube videos show, it will reduce vibration and make cornering easier. This in turn may relieve having to get new skis, since everybody is suggesting to get rid of the tuner skis. Let me know if you have this damper or if it can be installed or if it is worth the cash and results. Also does anyone know how much it costs to buy and have the damper installed?

Personally I think the extremely small gains the damper will provide is totally not worth the cost. Yamaha is doing this as another way (gimmick) the separate the Viper from the Cat 7000. The 2016 Cat gets Team clutches and the YamahaCat get a dampner...what a joke.

But to answer your question Yes..it's just a bolt on gimmick that can be added. Their not gonna change the frame for mounts for the dampner

My understanding is that the dampers sell for around $600-700. Not worth it IMO. Go with a set of new skis.

I agree it probably does something (very small gains) but not worth the cost to add it. There is a 3rd party test drive on a sled with dampers installed on youtube someplace and the guy said he could not feel a difference with or without. If I can find the link and post it here.

Sweeper,
Not everyone wants to get rid of tuners, if you are a trail rider they do a nice job, agree in the deep or loose single keels are better. I don't think the benefits of the vibration dampener addresses the the weakness of the tuner skis

I bought C&A RZ skies for next year...I'm thinking they will be better than the stock skies and just as good or better than some other aftermarket skies..

considering Yamahas race team had a damper on the 15 race sled for the cross country 300 mile race and got a second with it on and the following weekend ski doo complained and said it wasn't 2015 stock, they had to take it off, and one of there riders wiped out bad, blaming it on not having that damper. considering those guys race a stock sled in the worst conditions, I would say it does do something.

Im looking forward to my 2016 with dampers. Would I spend 600? No idbuy skis and/or ulmer clutch kit for the money.

They may not work but I do have some magic beans I will sell you for cheap!!!

I am only interested if they are the EXPENSIVE magic beans because I heard the cheap ones don't work. Will these magic beans work and 2 and 4 stroke sleds or just the 4 stroke?

LOL

I don't think those sleds are close to stock.
