Hi all,

I am having an issue. 2008 nytro, MPI 180 kit with boost tee.

When I am at elevation, and the sled is warm I can't seem to get to 8lbs, I see 7 and that's about it. I can turn the boost tee all the way in and that is all I will see. If I forget to turn my boost tee down, or it freezes up I will see over 10lbs at the parking lot the next day so it seems as though my turbo is capable of pushing more boost.

Edit, I ride anywhere from 6-9000 ft. Result is the same.

I have looked all over for boost leaks with no luck, plus as I said above I have seen it push more, just not on the hill when it counts.

Is that all my turbo is capable of at elevation? Is it a heat problem, hot air not compressing? Header crack? Faulty blowoff?

I wanted to do the upgrade to a 240 kit, but at the moment I haven't spent any money as it seems I am stuck at 175. I have kind of accepted this is all I am going to get, and have clutched my sled accordingly.

I am seeing over 100km/hr track speed so very happy with performance, it rips. Just bugs me I can't get 8 lbs. Should I drop it?

What elevation?

I am seeing 8-9 lbs at 10-11,000 feet. I think the easiest place to start looking would be the blowoff/bypass and go from there.

We drop 1/2 lb ish of boost for every 1,000' of elevation increase on a Supercharger & a Turbo with no Turbo control Valve.

If your parking lot at 10 psi with frozen T is 6,000 ' lower than where you are seeing 7psi
it seems about right.

My MCX 290 Kit TCV will compensate approximately 4.5 psi which looks after close to 10,000'
elevation change.

I would not be surprised if the 180 kit only compensates 3 psi but you should check with Matt @ MPI to be sure.

I get all that, just thought the mitsu could push more boost than that at elevation. Seems like I was getting more with the boost switch from MPI before, switched to the tee for more adjustment.

Which Mitsu in the 180 kit?

I've seen 19 psi from my T 16 at 800' .

What is your boost with your boost controller turned all the way down (or out), so that you are running just off of the waste gate setting?

It is possible that you don't have enough preload on your waste gate and can not build more than 7 lbs of boost because of that.

Not sure if I am following. I have my waste gate set for the lowest boost I want (5lbs so I can ride around home) and then turn up the boost tee so I can run higher boost at elevation. Are you saying if I put my base at 6lbs I should be able to get more when I crank it up?
