I was wondering if someone can explain what the slides in the carbs are for before the butterflies that are linked to the throttle cable. I was out playing with the sled the otherday changing the battery. I had the aitbox off and was playing with the throttle to verify the carbs were opening up all the way when I noticed the slides weren't opening. I lifted one up and saw the butterflies which were working. I have only rebuilt 2-stroke carbs (older ones) so I'm not familiar with these slide/butterfly ones. Anyone care to give the a rundown on how these slides work and how to make sure they are working?

slides wont open if the motor isnt running. they are vacuum operated.

CV carbs or Constant Velocity Carbs. Slides only open as the motor can handle them. Even though you whack the throttle wide open the CV carb only opens as fast as the motor can take the fuel. Smoother operation and less bogging.
